Job DescriptionAP/AR & Technical Accounting Lead About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced AP/AR & Technical Accounting Lead to oversee the full cycle of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions while supporting key accounting operations, month-end close activities, and technical accounting initiatives. This role is ideal for a highly analytical accounting professional who combines strong transactional accounting expertise with a deep understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls. The successful candidate will serve as a key contributor to accounting operations, partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Logistics, and external business partners to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial processes. Key Responsibilities Accounts Receivable • Manage full-cycle AR including invoicing, cash application, collections, account reconciliations, and reporting, • Generate invoices based on customer contracts, pricing schedules, and shipping documentation, • Monitor aging reports and proactively manage collection efforts, • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, deductions, and customer disputes, • Process and apply payments received via ACH, wire transfers, checks, and credit cards, • Maintain AR subledger accuracy and support customer credit reviews, • Analyze receivable trends and make recommendations to improve cash flowAccounts Payable, • Manage full-cycle AP including invoice processing, coding, approvals, vendor maintenance, and payment execution, • Perform 3-way matching between invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents, • Process payment runs via check, ACH, wire, and electronic payment methods, • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies, • Maintain AP subledger accuracy and proper expense classifications, • Ensure timely vendor payments while supporting company cash flow objectives, • Adhere to internal controls and approval workflowsTechnical Accounting & Financial Reporting, • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations, • Assist with financial statement preparation and supporting schedules, • Analyze accounting transactions and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, • Support revenue recognition, prepaid expenses, accrual accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations, • Assist with external audits and preparation of audit schedules, • Research accounting guidance and recommend appropriate accounting treatment for non-routine transactions, • Participate in the development and enhancement of accounting policies and proceduresReporting & Process Improvement, • Prepare AR and AP aging reports and management reporting packages, • Reconcile subledgers to the general ledger and investigate variances, • Support cash forecasting and working capital initiatives, • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting processes, • Assist with ERP implementations, upgrades, and process improvements, • Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policiesQualifications, • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, • 5+ years of accounting experience with responsibility for AP, AR, and general accounting functions, • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting fundamentals, • Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and journal entries, • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, or similar, • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUPs, and financial analysis, • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, • Excellent communication and business partnering abilitiesPreferred Qualifications, • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or inventory-based environments, • Prior audit support experience, • Experience with process improvement initiatives and accounting automationCompensation & Benefits, • Competitive base salary, • Annual performance bonus opportunity, • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, • 401(k) with company match, • Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays, • Life and Disability insurance, • Flexible spending accounts (FSA) and health savings account (HSA), where applicable, • Employee Assistance Program (EAP), • Professional development and continuing education support, • Collaborative team environment with opportunities for career growth and advancementPay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour Search managed by: Vanessa Krause Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
