We're seeking a talented and driven Accounting Manager to join our team, reporting directly to the Financial Controller to assist in and elevate the financial operations of our thriving landscape and construction business. In this critical role, you'll oversee daily accounting functions, driving for accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all financial activities. You'll bring your strong command of GAAP and your expertise in construction service accounting to lead process improvements and enhance financial reporting. Requirements: Responsibilities • Manage all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts receivable and general ledger functions., • Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards., • Oversee cash flow analysis to optimize financial performance and liquidity., • Implement and maintain accounting software systems., • Ensure adherence to double entry bookkeeping principles for accurate record-keeping., • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support business decisions., • Assist with month-end close, review, and analyze the general ledger, and prepare monthly financials and job cost reports., • Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure accurate amortized, & allocation of expenses., • Monitor budget-to-actual performance., • Oversee accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing, and monthly bank reconciliations., • Review the billing process, including progress billing, time & materials (T&M) billing, and retention tracking in accordance with construction contracts., • Help support and assist field operations with job costing., • Work with the A/P Mgr. & team to ensure maximum vendor discounts are received., • Help manage an accounting staff of 6 responsible for financial reports, billing, and collections., • Drive for accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all financial activities., • Bachelor’s degree in accounting., • 8+ years of related accounting experience, with significant experience in construction service accounting., • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is required., • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formula), • Knowledge or experience in NetSuite., • Strong proficiency in accounting principles and practices., • Proven ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment., • Strong understanding of prevailing wage laws and certified payroll reporting., • High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail., • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills., • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in reporting., • Standing periodically throughout the day, • Sitting and standing as needed, • Walking as needed in order to meet with clients at various locations, • Repetitive motion, Keyboard data entry, telephone use, driving a vehicle, • Visually able to read, view computer monitors with or without corrective devices, • Competitive salary, and performance-based bonuses., • Opportunities for career advancement., • Ongoing training and development., • A supportive and collaborative work environment.
