Job Description JOB OVERVIEW: The Sr. Director of Commercial Operations reports to the CEO, has dotted line responsibility to the COO and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the company and ensuring efficiency, productivity, and quality across multiple departments. This role is responsible for end-to-end operational leadership of TriMed’s Valencia site, driving performance across inventory & materials management, customer service, contracts & pricing, IT & analytics, and operational quality/regulatory compliance. Accountable for aligning day-to-day operations with enterprise strategy, delivering on service level commitments, optimizing cost structure, and ensuring compliance with global medical device regulations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide executive leadership of day-to-day global operations for the extremities orthopedics business, spanning supply chain, customer service, contracts, IT, and regulatory compliance., • Drive operational excellence through standardized SOPs, robust KPIs, and cross-functional scorecards to optimize performance and scalability., • Build and cultivate a high-performance culture that attracts, develops, and retains top talent, with emphasis on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement., • Oversee global inventory, procurement, supply chain, and logistics to ensure availability of implants/instruments while optimizing COGS, asset utilization, and supplier partnerships., • Direct loaner set strategy, lifecycle management, and deployment to maximize salesforce effectiveness and customer satisfaction., • Champion customer-centric operations, including order-to-cash, pricing transparency, and voice-of-customer initiatives to strengthen distributor and healthcare provider relationships., • Govern enterprise contract and pricing management across IDNs, GPOs, and direct accounts, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, compliance, and profitability., • Provide executive oversight of IT systems, ERP infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data analytics; advance automation and digital tools to enable data-driven decision making., • Partner with Finance to manage operational budgets, approve expenditures, and ensure financial discipline while enabling global revenue growth., • Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory Affairs to ensure compliance with FDA, MDSAP, ISO, OSHA, and global frameworks; lead inspection readiness and risk mitigation efforts., • Embed a culture of quality and operational excellence across processes including receiving/inspection, product compliance, and non-conforming material management., • Lead integrated business planning processes to align supply and demand, mitigate risks, and support global commercial competitiveness., • Lead strategic M&A due diligence efforts, ensuring seamless integration of operational and product functions., • Drive special projects and cross-functional initiatives as required to advance strategic priorities and business growth., • Performs other duties and supports special projects as needed SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: • Strong working knowledge of operations within a Medtech (preferably orthopedics) business., • Command of financial statements, • Experience managing RAQA compliance across multiple functions, • Experience managing Operations in a manufacturing business and working directly with multiple contract manufacturers GENERAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: • Outstanding management and leadership skills and ability to attract, retain, motivate, develop, mentor and coach team members for high performance, • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to resolve disputes effectively, • Outstanding presentation and public speaking skills, • Expert independent decision making, analysis and problem-solving skills, • Understand, interpret and act on financial information and external trends that contributes to business profitability, • Plan and manage complex and successful projects; understand available resources, develop timeline, budget and assign areas of responsibility, • Lead teams to achieve company goals and solve complex business issues in creative and effective ways, • Expert planning and organizational skills and techniques, • Communicate effectively with senior management and key stakeholders, • Excellent negotiating skills and ability to effectively manage internal and external relationships, • Ability to influence, build relationships, understand organizational complexities, manage conflict and navigate politics, • Broad professional and managerial skills with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures, • Lead and develop virtual teams, • Expert in multiple technical and business skills, • Strategic planning skills MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: Typically 12 or more years of increasing responsibility and complexity in terms of any applicable professional experience; 5 or more years of management experience. PREFERRED EDUCATION: Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline. Master's degree or global equivalent a plus. TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required. SCOPE: Typically direct a large complex section of a department or a complex department with significant scope and financial and operational impact. Role may focus on executing large and very complex/complicated processes. Accountable for performance, results and staffing. Make recommendations for the objectives, policies and plans of the sub-function(s). Fully accountable for meeting the strategic, and operating objectives of the sub-function(s). Develop proposed budgets for approval and manage budget once approved. Operate with substantial latitude for un-reviewed action or decision. Often plays a role in high-level projects that have an impact on the company’s future direction. COMPLEXITY: Work on complex, numerous and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth knowledge of the company and an evaluation of intangibles. Knowledge of all areas within sub-function(s) derived from experience in non-management and middle-management roles allowing for innovative concepts and promoting new ideas within the function. STRATEGY: Participate in establishing the strategic direction to ensure alignment with overall Company strategy and initiatives. Focus may be on the execution of a large and/or complex processes. Translate and guide team to implement strategy. SUPERVISION: Direct and control activities through several managers or senior professional level staff who have responsibility for the operation of the assigned area and/or process or system. INTERACTION: Regularly interact with executives and/or major customers/stakeholders. Ability to negotiate with customers or management and influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance. Build personal networks to achieve mutually beneficial solutions. MANAGEMENT DUTIES: Can hire, terminate, or promote and is aware of higher-level functional issues and concerns. Makes decisions on salary increases, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, etc. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Typically, to advance to a new job level, TSMs must demonstrate professional behavior and should consistently be at the high-end of meets expectations or consistently exceed expectations.
