Job DescriptionLHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Bookkeeper for a great organization in the Bay Shore, NY area. We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and reliable Bookkeeper to join our Accounting team. This role is responsible for accurately recording financial transactions, maintaining receivable records, supporting payroll entry, and assisting with day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities and funds. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and maintains a high level of accuracy and professionalism. Responsibilities • Record financial transactions in accounting and mortgage software (e.g., SAGE 300, FICS Mortgage Servicer), • Assist with maintaining accurate records of all receivable transactions, including mortgage and rental receivables, • Record weekly payroll in accounting software, • Assist with preparation of vouchers, review account coding, and process check runs for multiple entities/funds, • Process payments received via cash, checks/money orders, or electronic transfers for multiple entities/funds, • Maintain up-to-date records of accounts receivable, reconcile accounts, and investigate discrepancies, • Follow up on overdue receivables with late notices; collaborate with property managers and third-party agencies to ensure timely collections, • Generate and send monthly payment coupons to clients as needed, • Prepare A/R reports, aging analyses, and other financial reports, • Maintain organized accounting files, vendor records, and payment documentation, including scanning and filing, • Assist in year-end closing processes, • Support the CFO during annual external audits, • Prepare annual tax filings (such as 1099s and 1098s), • Perform additional duties as required to support the Accounting teamQualifications, • Strong understanding of bookkeeping practices and accounting principles, • 3-6 years of related experience as a Bookkeeper, • Experience with SAGE 300 is a PLUS, • Experience with FICS Mortgage Servicer or similiar is a PLUS, • Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel, • High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills, • Effective written and verbal communication skills, • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information responsibly, • Associate's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferredAPPLY TODAY!
