Job Description Kehoe Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician Assistant to join our team! This is an excellent opportunity for an outgoing assistant with a strong background in patient care and handling, who enjoys building meaningful relationships with clients and their pets while working in a collaborative, team-focused environment. What You’ll Do: • Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams and outpatient procedures, • Provide exceptional patient care and support throughout appointments and treatments, • Prepare patients for procedures and assist with recovery, • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, • Review treatment plans and discharge instructions with clients, answering questions with empathy and clarity, • Assist with patient exams, handling, and restraint, • Prepare and package lab samples (fecals, urinalysis, etc.) and assist with basic diagnostics, • Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized treatment and exam areas, • Turn over exam rooms and prepare for incoming patients, • Support daily hospital operations, including stocking, laundry (wash, dry, fold), and cleaning, • Maintain kennel areas and prepare spaces for incoming patients, • Clean and disinfect treatment and surgical areas as needed, • Maintain equipment such as clippers, • Assist with end-of-day closing tasks, • Communicate clearly and professionally with both clients and team members This is a full-time, flexible position with a 4/10 schedule. • Monday–Friday only, • Compensation: $17-18 per hour, for each hour worked*, • Health package: Medical, dental, and vision insurance, • Life insurance and disability, • Employee Assistance Program, • 401k options, • Paid time off in accordance with site policy and applicable law, • 1+ year of veterinary experience in a clinical setting, • Strong technical skills, including:, • Patient restraint and handling, • Laboratory sample collection and processing, • Basic diagnostics (urinalysis, fecals, etc.), • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, • Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills, • Compassion for both patients and clients, • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, and willingness to learn practice management software) Located on Florida’s beautiful Space Coast, Kehoe Animal Clinic is a welcoming, three-doctor practice known for delivering high-quality, affordable care in a warm, team-focused environment.
