ABOUT THE ROLE: The AVP of Insurance Product Management will play a significant role in both Orion180 and the Product & Underwriting department. The AVP, Insurance Product Manager, will oversee the daily P&L of a $500 million portfolio that is expanding quickly, meeting both top-line and bottom-line goals. In addition to managing many products (Homeowners, Flood) and various product types (E&S and Admitted) over a 14-state footprint, this individual will oversee a group of five to seven product managers and analysts. To grow new business, maximize retention, and reach target profitability, the AVP will collaborate with all Orion180 departments, including sales, marketing, technology, legal, and compliance. WHAT YOU’LL DO: • Create and establish product management discipline to drive results., • Lead and develop staff; retain talent and attract new talent to the organization., • Comfortable making data-driven decisions around rate and product and executing at a rapid pace (weekly), • Collaborate to discover, research, build, launch, and manage new states or new products., • Collaborate with sales and marketing departments to review market strategy and help communicate product positioning, benefits, and target customers., • Experience in managing catastrophe risk, including exposure analysis and pricing adequacy for catastrophe risk., • Continually look for growth opportunities across all markets., • Lead development of next-generation, AI-based product management and business management tools. WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU: • 5 or more years of demonstrated experience in leading a team of insurance product managers; demonstrated success in profitable growth of state(s) or business(es)., • 5 or more years of property & casualty insurance experience, with experience in homeowners or property experience preferred., • Experience with reinsurance and working with reinsurers is preferred., • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present detailed analysis to internal executives and external parties clearly., • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and coaching skills., • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment., • Strong Microsoft Office skills., • Entrepreneurial drive and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and demanding environment. While performing general duties for this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and/or walk around (including the use of stairs). Other demands include the ability to openly communicate with others by talking, listening, comprehending, and reading; being able to lift light objects (<25 lbs); and using standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones. In addition, there is an occasional need to bend, twist, or squat down to open/close cabinets and reach for files or other standard office-type objects.
