Tire Technician Responsibilities: • Inspect and assess tire tread levels, wear patterns, valve quality, and overall health., • Recommend appropriate repair treatment or replacement of tires., • Repair punctures and replace faulty valves., • Install new tires., • Balance tires and complete wheel alignment procedures., • Conduct roadside repairs., • Examine vehicles to identify necessary repair or maintenance items that may not be included on the repair order, and communicate to the Service Advisor., • Notify Service Advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined on the repair order is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed by the time promised., • Clearly and accurately document all work performed; ensure accurate time stamps for warranty, internal, and customer pay work., • Road test vehicles as required or refer to the inspection technician as appropriate., • Only perform work that is authorized by the customer or by the warranty., • Examine and test-drive all vehicles to ensure that the cause of vehicle malfunctions and recommend/ perform repairs are completed. Communicate all discrepancies to the Service Manager., • Road test vehicles as required or refer to the inspection technician as appropriate., • Inspecting all work as described on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy., • Charge all vehicle batteries., • Move Vehicles in and around the shop., • Assist in towing in all non-running vehicles using shop supplied equipment., • Shop organization including equipment, tools, supplies, and parts. Must be an energetic, reliable, motivated individual with at least 3 years of automotive service advisor experience. BMW/German Vehicle Advisor experience strongly preferred. Responsibilities for this position include: • Establish ongoing consulting relationships with customers by being available during business hours to answer questions, explain additional repairs needed, and make arrangements for subsequent service reservations., • Promote the sales of appropriate services, parts, and accessories by accurately identifying the customer's service needs and by thoroughly understanding the BMW product and service lines., • Establish working agreement with the customer by determining and verifying customer's service needs and recording them along with current vehicle and customer information on the repair order (phone numbers such as home, office, fax, pager & cellular phone.)
