Position Summary As a Porter, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring that the premises are clean, organized, and presentable for both employees and visitors. You will also assist with various tasks related to facility management, contributing to a positive and welcoming environment. Responsibilities Cleaning and Maintenance • Perform routine cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting., • Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas., • Empty trash bins and replace liners as needed., • Maintain cleanliness and order in outdoor areas, such as sidewalks, building entryways and walkways. May include leaf and snow removal., • Help set up rooms or areas for events, meetings, or conferences., • Arrange furniture and equipment as required., • Monitor and report any safety hazards, such as spills or damaged equipment., • Ensure that fire exits are clear and accessible., • Lock and unlock doors as per the schedule., • Provide assistance and directions to employees, visitors, and guests., • Maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor when interacting with others., • Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when reordering is needed., • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols., • Follow established procedures for cleaning and maintenance., • Complete required training and certifications. What You’ll Bring • High school diploma or equivalent., • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required., • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment., • Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds., • Strong communication skills., • Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and organization., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team., • Flexibility to work weekends or evenings as needed., • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods., • Physical stamina and strength to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks., • Comfortable working in various weather conditions if outdoor maintenance is required. Employment Details Department: Facilities Location: Onsite – 623 Broadway, New York, NY; All Greenwich House sites Schedule: 35 hours/week, Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Flexibility required FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Director of Facilities Union Representation: Non-Union Salary Range The expected salary range for this position is between $48,000 - $50,000 per year. This range reflects the anticipated compensation at the time of this posting and may be adjusted based on experience, education, and organizational needs.
