Today, the company operates with over 650 staff at 14+ airports across the US and the Caribbean, with that number slated to grow to 800 during the next year with the addition of new airport projects. Avports has historically managed and operated a portfolio of airport operations and maintenance (O&M) and public-private partnership (P3/PPP) contracts at more than 30 US airports. These airports have diverse operations, encompassing commercial and general aviation airports, passenger terminals, joint-use airports, heliports, NASA facilities, and spaceports. The company is working to integrate electric aviation, hydrogen fuel cells, and zero-emission decarbonization concepts in existing airport environments. Owned by the New York Department of Transportation (NYDOT) and leased by Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) and operated by Future Stewart Partners (FSP/Avports) under a long-term agreement, SWF is a FAA Part 139 certified commercial service airport offering scheduled passenger service and cargo operations. The airport plays a key role in regional transportation and economic development and is committed to safe, efficient, and customer-focused airport operations. Job Summary Responsible for the management and administration of capital and operating projects for the facility. Activities include project development, planning, design, construction, and project inspection. Prepares drawings and cost estimates for maintenance, repair, and construction projects and inspects all aspects of projects accomplished by in-house or contractor personnel. Essential Job Functions • Lead project management of both capital and operating projects for the facility., • Develop, administer, and coordinate the airport Capital Plan and Annual Major Maintenance Programs (AMMP)., • Collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver a feasible asset management plan that meets the goals of the facility., • Serve as the airport technical expert regarding Fire Protection and Life Safety (FPLS) issues and facility operation standards., • Coordinate and oversee implementation, repair, and resolution of deficiencies related to mandatory structural and fire protection and life safety (FPLS) inspections as well as tenant lease inspections., • Assist in the development of work scope, budget preparation, and management of consultant contracts., • Coordinate the facility structural integrity program including working with the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey’s Quality Assurance Department (QAD) regarding their cyclical inspection program., • Serve as the facility liaison for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey Aviation Department Sustainability Program., • Prepare technical drawings when needed., • Other duties as assigned.Core Competencies, • Accept ownership and accountability, consistently delivering accurate, high-quality results with a sense of urgency., • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and consistency in all work., • Manage multiple priorities and concurrent projects effectively in a fast-paced environment., • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and conscientiousness in all work., • Communicate clearly and professionally in written and verbal form with internal and external stakeholders., • Work collaboratively and support team goals across departments., • Seek, receive, and apply constructive feedback to support ongoing development., • Drive continuous improvement through innovative and cost-effective solutions.Required Skills & Qualifications Education & Experience • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management., • Minimum five (5) years of hands-on experience in project management, design, inspection, and/or construction., • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently utilizing limited resources to achieve complex goals., • Demonstrated knowledge of NYS Building Code requirements, construction standards, and other applicable Engineering Design Codes. Licenses, Certifications & Eligibility • Must possess and maintain a valid New York State Driver’s License as a condition of employment., • Must be eligible to obtain all Airport staff access and security clearances., • P.E. or R.A. license preferred. Technical & Functional Skills • Experience in aviation construction management or engineering project management., • Experience developing complex strategies in the areas of facility maintenance, asset management, and redevelopment., • Experience establishing and managing a Capital and Operating Program for a large facility., • Demonstrated knowledge of contract administration and the principles, methods, and tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources., • Strong oral and written communication skills to interact with government and private sector engineers, maintenance staff, operations personnel, and stakeholders., • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, e-Builder/Trimble, CAD, and project management software. Preferred Skills • P.E. or R.A. license., • Experience across several disciplines including airport planning, airport operations, transportation planning, project management, and properties.Work Authorization & Travel Requirements, • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship., • Must comply with airport credentialing requirements and security clearance to work in secure areas., • Travel to project sites and Port Authority facilities may be required.Work Environment, Physical & Cognitive Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle to feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and smell. Compensation & Benefits Overview Compensation: $90,000 - $120,000 annual salary.
