KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsible for scaling, decorating and producing of all Desserts, Pastries and Cakes, • General knowledge of production methods and organization of Confectionary production, • Learn new products and skills and has ability to demonstrate proper techniques to new cakers, • Sanitization procedures, maintaining overall cleanliness of work station, • Must be able to manage time and skills with strong organization, • Knowledge of all recipes and procedures of all production, • Ensure cake display is presentable for internal and external customers, • Make creams and sauces for cakes and pastries, • Receive, stock, and store food in designated containers and storage areas in an organized manner, • Inform supervisor when equipment is not working properly and manage when food supplies are getting low, • Perform other related duties as assigned WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE • Knowledge on food producing process, sanitization, quality program, • Knowledge on food producing technique, food microbiology, and food sanitary safety practice/procedure, • Ability to work weekends and holidays., • Food safety, food labeling, nutrition related knowledge (include FDA), • Confectionery/Foods major recommended, • Food Handler’s Certificate, preferred, • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment, • Ability to multi-task, • Multiple priority management abilities, • Feedback is a gift! Job Description Position Summary The Cake Decorator is responsible for decorating cakes, and specialty desserts according to Carlo's Bakery standards. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work in a fast-paced bakery environment while maintaining high-quality presentation and food safety standards. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Decorate cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and specialty desserts using buttercream, fondant, piping, airbrushing, and other decorating techniques, • Follow custom cake orders and design specifications accurately, • Prepare and apply fillings, icings, and decorative elements, • Maintain consistency in product appearance and quality standards, • Assist with production schedules to ensure timely completion of orders, • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and GMP standards, • Properly store ingredients and finished products, • Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times, • Communicate with bakery management regarding inventory, supplies, and order status, • Support team members during high-volume production periods, • Provide excellent customer service when discussing cake designs or special orders Qualifications • Previous cake decorating or bakery experience preferred, • Knowledge of buttercream, fondant, and piping techniques, • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines, • Strong attention to detail and creativity, • Ability to follow recipes, design guides, and production instructions, • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed Physical Requirements • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, • Ability to work in refrigerated or warm kitchen environments Work Environment • Fast-paced commercial bakery setting, • Exposure to flour, sugar, food allergens, and bakery equipment, • Must wear appropriate bakery attire and PPE in production areas Equal Employment Opportunity Carlo's Bakery is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.
