___Job ID83446 LocationSacramento Full/Part TimeFull Time ______ The Electrophysiology Lab is a specialized invasive procedure suite where cardiac electrophysiology procedures are performed on patients from neonate through geriatrics. The Electrophysiology Technician is an integral part the EP team and is responsible for operating the technical equipment used during complex EP procedures. A strong knowledge base that includes experience in an Electrophysiology Lab setting, operation of Mac Lab/Cardio Lab, endocardial mapping equipment including but not limited to Biosense Webster and Carto, as well as experience with assisting the physician in the scrub role for pacemaker and ICD implant procedures is required. The EP tech is required to work in the EP Procedural areas as well as in the OR and Hybrid Suite to assist with CVT duties outlined in this position description. Technical duties include pre/post procedure preparation including patient transport as required, operation of EP monitors and computers, maintains inventory control and supply management/usage, and assists in maintaining a safe work environment. #CA-SB Apply By Date 4/18/2026 by 11:59pm: interviews may occur at anytime Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position Electrophysiology Technician 1 • High school diploma, general education diploma (GED), or equivalent experience/training, • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), • American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 3 months of hire, • American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR, • 1 year experience as a CVT tech - will consider course work in lieu of work experience, • Ability to perform all roles of the EP Scrub Tech, • Skills to work accurately and quickly under pressure, • Ability to set priorities, organize work independently for self and others., • Judgment skills to be able to make independent clinical decisions within scope of practice, • Knowledge and recognition of pressure waveforms and ECG analysis., • Working knowledge of EP systems equipment, • Knowledge of laboratory supplies., • Ability to participate in implementing standards of patient care., • Ability to provide pre- and post-EP teaching explanations of procedures and emotional support to patients and families, • Ability to participate in establishing policies and procedures and in ongoing CQI program., • Willingness and ability to work in a cooperative fashion with other staff members. Ability to utilize chain of command for questions or escalations. Preferred: • Experience with EKG interpretation, • Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) or Certified Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS), • Valid California Radiologist Technologist License, • Graduation from an accredited Cardiovascular Technician Program, • 40% - Assist with performance of all EP invasive and interventional procedures (EPS, ablation, PM, ICD, lead extraction, loop recorder etc.), • 40% - Knowledge of x-ray/digital equipment, • 10% - Maintain the quality and safety of the work environment The Electrophysiology (EP) Laboratory is a specialized unit focused on the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias through advanced electrophysiological procedures. The department includes two dedicated EP labs, each equipped with state-of-the-art mapping systems, fluoroscopy, and ablation technologies to support both diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Our expert team provides care to a broad patient population, from neonates to geriatric patients, ensuring individualized and age-appropriate management of complex rhythm disorders. Procedures performed in the EP lab include diagnostic EP studies, catheter ablations, pacemaker and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) insertions, lead extractions, and device troubleshooting. Highly skilled Electrophysiologists, Cardiovascular Technologists (CVTs), nurses, and anesthesia providers work collaboratively to deliver safe, precise, and patient-centered care using evidence-based practices and the latest innovations in cardiac electrophysiology.
