About the Role The Program Aide Digital Literacy role supports adults with developmental disabilities in both classroom and community-based settings byassistingthe Program Instructor. This position helps create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence, digital confidence, and community inclusion. Desired Qualifications Required • High School Diploma or equivalent required., • Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or other special populations in educational, vocational, recreational, or community settings., • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills in English., • Strong organizational, classroom management, and interpersonal skills., • Ability to lead and support individuals during educational, recreational, and technology-based activities., • Basicproficiencyusing computers, Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace, email, and classroom technology., • Ability toassistwith documentation and data entry withinTherapor other electronic record systems., • Professional appearance and conduct., • Consistently reliable, dependable, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team. Preferred • Experience supporting digital literacy or workplace technology instruction., • Familiarity with Canva Pro, Adobe Express, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or similar digital platforms., • Experience using Cricut, Silhouette, or other digital cutting systems., • Experienceassistingwith arts, crafts, creative production, merchandise preparation, or product assembly., • Knowledge of assistive technology or accessibility tools. What You'll Do Classroom & Participant Support • Learn and follow established classroom routines and instructional procedures developed by the Program Instructor., • Reinforce classroom management strategies andmaintaina structured, positive learning environment., • Encourage active participation while promoting dignity, independence, and self-confidence., • Work effectively with individuals in group settings as well as one-on-one instruction., • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment., • Assistwith classroom setup, organization, inventory, and equipment maintenance., • Assessparticipantneeds and provideappropriate guidance, encouragement, and support during classroom and community activities., • Assume classroom responsibilities when the Program Instructor is temporarily absent. Digital LiteracySupport • Assistparticipants with computers, tablets, smartphones, and classroom technology., • Reinforce instruction using Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, email, calendars, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other workplace communication tools., • Assistparticipants in navigating online learning platforms such as Northstar Digital Literacy, LinkedIn Learning,GCFGlobal, and similar educational resources., • Support participants in practicing safe internet use, digital communication, and basic cybersecurity awareness., • Assistparticipants with assistive technologies and adaptive digital tools whenappropriate. Creative Production Support • Support participants during digital design activities using Canva Pro, Adobe Express, and similar software., • Assist with Cricut, Silhouette, vinyl cutting, paper crafting, product assembly, and other creative production activities., • Prepare classroom materials, supplies, equipment, and production projects for instruction., • Assistwith photography, branding, merchandise preparation, and creative projects for fundraising or center-wide events. Documentation & Individual Support • Assist the Program Instructor with attendance procedures and daily classroom documentation., • Helpmaintainaccuraterecords withinTherap, including participant attendance, goals, and progress., • Track individuals leaving the classroom for therapy, restroom breaks, community activities, or appointments., • Assistwith monitoring and documenting participant progress toward Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals., • Provide observations and feedback to Social Services staffregardingparticipant progress, engagement, and classroom participation., • Promptly report behavioral, health, or safety concerns to the Program Instructor, Education Manager, or Social Services staff. Collaboration • Work collaboratively with Program Instructors, Job Coaches, Education staff, Social Services, therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members., • Support participants in applying classroom skills to vocational and community-based experiences., • Assistwithspecial events, community outings, fundraising initiatives, and center-wide activities. Health, Safety & Participant Care • Ensure the health, safety, welfare, dignity, and rights of all participantsat all times., • Follow emergency procedures andassistduring emergency situations when necessary., • Assistparticipants with mobility, communication, behavioral support, and personalassistanceasappropriate., • Maintain confidentiality andcomply withall agency policies, HIPAA requirements, and state regulations.
