Heres an example of what a Dental Insurance Billing & Collections Specialist might do in a day: • Review A/R reports monthly for all accounts (private pay and insurance) for accuracy., • Follow up with patients and/or adjust A/R accounts as needed to rectify accounts., • Refer any insurance issues on the A/R to the insurance team., • Approach insurance department team with any questions about balances after insurance pays claim(s); make necessary notes to account., • Review balances sent from insurance department after they enter mail and EBT payments daily; research to ascertain if appropriate to send statement to patient/guarantor and send if appropriate., • Send accurate billing statements every thirty (30) days to all patients with balances., • Start contacting all patients, preferably via phone, with outstanding balances of more than forty-five (45) old; continue contacting at regular intervals and maintain detailed records of all such contact attempts. Keeping eye on their timely return to move forward with patient's care., • Collaborate with our financial team to address and collect patient balances when they are in set to return to the Practice for care., • Ability to respond to live chats or website leads as they may come thru during the day., • Comfortable with keeping up to date with email communications as the day goes on., • Professionally being able to hold space for anxious patients during the check out process, as well as being their advocate to properly explain their financial responsibilities., • Answer incoming calls when appropriate, not with a patient, as calls may come thru our Call Center., • Correctly schedule future appointments for patients checking out to ensure doctors and hygienists are focusing on caring for our patients. Heres an example of what a Patient Experience Coordinator might do in a day: • Greet Patients warmly and professionally, using their names. Setting up the service for success and ease., • Change patient status within our dental system to notify the team that their patient has arrived., • Announce to the specific team on the radio that their patient is ready to be brought to the operatory for scheduled treatment., • Before patient scheduled appointments, check to make sure all needed paperwork is completed and if not, follow up with patients., • Scan any patient documents and move to patient file, if needed., • Take picture of arriving patients and update ID's as needed in patient file., • Comfortable with keeping up to date with email communications as the day goes on., • Keep abreast of wait times and communicate accordingly with patients in reception.
