The Justice Center incorporates evidence-based methods for working with high-risk youth, including positive youth development and restorative justice principles, into its programming. Ultimately, the goal of the Justice Center is to provide off-ramps from the justice system, to help participants lead a more meaningful life, and to increase public safety. The Queens Community Justice Center is seeking a Mentor, Arches Program. Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the mentor will be responsible for facilitating group mentoring and interactive journaling sessions for participants in the Department of Probation funded Arches program. Arches is a neighborhood-based transformative mentoring services program for young adults on probation between the ages of 16 and 24 who reside in or adjacent to Jamaica, Queens. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Facilitate Interactive Journaling sessions focused on skill development and goal setting;, • Provide one-on-one mentoring support to participants;, • Provide program participants with additional support in achieving Individual Achievement Plan goals as set by Department of Probation (DOP) probation officers;, • Work with the Program Coordinator in organizing and facilitating a mentor support group;, • Ensure thorough and accurate file-keeping and reporting on progress and compliance of participants;, • Input data to ensure proper tracking of clients and measure program success;, • Participate in regular staff and team meetings to coordinate program needs and objectives;, • Provide enrollment and administrative coverage when necessary;, • Attend evening and weekend community events when necessary;, • Assist in special events and collaborate on larger QCJC projects as necessary;, • Perform other duties as assigned by Program Coordinator; and Position Type: Part-time, working 10 hours per week, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1:00pm - 6:00pm. Under the direct supervision of the Breastfeeding Coordinator and Center Manager, the Breastfeeding Peer Counselor will provide breastfeeding support and guidance to prenatal and breastfeeding mothers. The Justice Center supports safe and healthy neighborhoods through alternative justice strategies, violence prevention, economic development, community healing, and youth opportunity. The Queens Community Justice Center is seeking a Clinical Specialist for the Uplift Program. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, the Clinical Specialist will provide evidence-based assessments and interventions, case management services, family engagement, restorative practices, and clinical services. The Uplift program is a trauma and healing program for young men between the ages of 16-24 who have experienced exposure to violence, with a special focus on individuals in the justice system. The Uplift program provides therapeutic services and mentoring. Annual Salary = $105,000 - $115,000. Registered Nurse - Staff Development Educator - RN Qualifications: • Current New York RN - Registered Nurse License., • Current CPR certification., • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in nursing supervision or nursing management in a long-term care setting., • Minimum of 3 years Long-Term Care experience., • Professional attitude, high degree of self-motivation and leadership qualities., • Manage educational department activities within rules of the long-term care facility to ensure facility compliance., • Plan, implement, direct, and evaluate the education program based on identified resident needs, staff needs, federal, state, and local regulations., • Coordinate the orientation program for new staff and other programs., • Plan and publish the in-service calendar for all mandatory in-services., • Oversee preceptors of new hires., • Provide regular continuing education programs for nurses., • Conductsan annual competency skills evaluation of nurses in preparation for their performance evaluation., • Act as the liaison between the nursing instructors and affiliated students., • Maintain a resource center with current geriatric literature and other media., • Maintain and submits to HR all training attendance documentation., • Compile necessary reports for DPH and other regulatory agencies. Looking to fill as soon as possible!!” Job Summary The Direct Support Professional (DSP), such as a Habilitation Specialist or Respite Worker, is responsible for assisting the people we support, while following established treatment plans. QSAC’s Community Habilitation (Comm Hab) program emphasizes the importance of promoting independence and integration into the community. Services are provided in the individual’s family’s home and/or in the community. You will abide by the Direct Support Professional Code of Ethics at all times. You will be required to attend periodic meetings and trainings and provide feedback regarding progress. You will also need to be an active team member and give suggestions on strategies to assist the individual in achieving their personal goals. Cases are in either Floral Park, West Hempstead, or Rockville Center Salary for this position is $18.00 per hour for Community Habilitation and $18.00 an hour for Respite Shift Information: Flexible Schedule - Mornings, Afternoons, Evenings, Overnights - Weekdays and/or Weekends.
