Job DescriptionSalary: $58,000-$70,000 per year About the Job The Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA) seeks a growth-minded, energetic team member to join the MGA Foundation as Senior Coordinator, Foundation Programs. This role coordinates and executes the day-to-day operations of the Foundations programs, with primary focus on GOLFWORKS the Foundations flagship youth development initiative and Youth on Course (YOC). It is a hybrid programs and human resources role, with the HR workload spanning the full employee lifecycle for approximately 300 seasonal interns each summer recruiting coordination, onboarding, payroll, and offboarding alongside program logistics, recruiter management, partner club relationships, and staff support. The majority of this role is seasonal in nature: peak activity for GOLFWORKS and Youth on Course runs April through October, while the off-season is dedicated to program wrap-up, planning for the following season, and administrative work. Day-to-day, the Senior Coordinator reports to the Director of the MGA Foundation. The MGA Foundation supports the MGAs mission to champion, invest in, and advance the future of the game in the Met Area by providing opportunities in golf through unique programs and initiatives for individuals of all backgrounds. GOLFWORKS has changed lives through golf for more than 30 years, and Youth on Course expands affordable playing opportunities for local juniors across NY, NJ, and CT. What Youll Do Program Operations (25%) • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of GOLFWORKS, including scheduling, logistics, and participant communication, • Develop and maintain the GOLFWORKS alumni network, • Develop and administer program evaluation tools, including pre/post participant surveys, outcomes tracking, and alumni engagement data, to support program improvement and Foundation reporting, • Make routine operational decisions independently; escalate non-standard issues to the Director, • Support other Foundation programming as needed Human Resources, Onboarding & Payroll (20%) • Coordinate the full onboarding and offboarding process for program staff and interns, ensuring a smooth and compliant experience, • Process weekly payroll for approximately 300+ seasonal interns each summer using ADP Workforce Now (or comparable platform), • Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll-related questions, discrepancies, and recordkeeping, reporting to the Director and CFO, • Apply HR and payroll best practices to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing, • Manage 56 recruiters and work with partner clubs to coordinate hiring timelines and staff deployment across the program season, • Utilize HubSpot to support the application and hiring process, maintaining accurate candidate records and communications throughout the recruitment lifecycle, • Uphold the highest standards of data privacy and confidentiality for all applicant and staff information, in strict accordance with the MGAs privacy policy and GOLFWORKS addendum, • Serve as the program-side point of contact for background-check and SafeSport compliance for recruiters and Foundation program volunteers, partnering with the Chief Administrative Officer to ensure timely completion and tracking, • Coordinate mandated-reporter training and serve as the programs operational point of contact for child-protection policies and incident documentation, • Ensure compliance with applicable youth and minor employment regulations across the Metropolitan Area (NY, NJ, CT) including working papers, permitted duties, scheduling and hours-of-work restrictions, and supporting documentation, • Collect and maintain photo, video, and media release forms for all program participants including parent/guardian consent for minors and flag opt-outs to Foundation communications staff, • Manage incident reporting, workers compensation intake, and short-term leave tracking for program interns, coordinating with the CAO/CFO on documentation and follow-up, • Serve as the day-to-day operational point of contact for HR and payroll vendors (e.g., ADP Workforce Now), coordinating with the Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Financial Officer on contract and escalation matters, • Serve as the primary point of contact for parent and guardian communications regarding minor participants including scheduling, policies, safety protocols, and documentation requirements Partnerships & Community (15%) • Build and sustain working relationships with golf courses, schools, and community organizations in support of GOLFWORKS and Youth on Course, • Serve as the primary point of contact for Youth on Course (YOC) stakeholders including YOC National representatives, Met Area member facilities, and YOC member families liaising with facilities and supporting a smooth member experience across the Met Area, • Work with partner clubs and recruiters to help identify, attract, and place program interns, • Help recruit and engage volunteers who share the Foundations commitment to youth development Team & Financial Management (15%) • Support the recruitment, training, and supervision of program staff and volunteers, • Provide day-to-day guidance to a dedicated summer intern, delegating appropriate tasks and supporting their development, • Assist with program budget tracking and financial reporting under Director oversight Strategy & Growth (25%) • Collaborate with MGA Foundation leadership to support strategic initiatives that expand and strengthen GOLFWORKS, Youth on Course, the GOLFWORKS Graduate Scholarship, and other Foundation programs, • Lead day-to-day growth and execution of the Youth on Course program across the Met Area staying current with YOC Nationals program changes, requirements, and resources, and translating them into action with Met Area facilities and members, • Expand affordable playing opportunities for local Met Area juniors by recruiting and onboarding new participating facilities and deepening engagement at existing ones, • Drive YOC awareness, sign-ups, and utilization among Met Area juniors and families through coordinated outreach with partner facilities, schools, and community organizations, • Contribute ideas and process improvements within areas of responsibility (i.e., GOLFWORKS Intern Summit) What Were Looking For • Bachelors degree in a related field (human resources, nonprofit management, education, sports administration, or similar); HR-related coursework, SHRM-CP/PHR certification, or progress toward certification is a plus, • 35 years of experience in program coordination or administration, ideally in a nonprofit or youth development environment, • 2+ years of direct human resources experience strongly preferred, including onboarding/offboarding, HR administration, recordkeeping, and supporting employee relations matters, • Familiarity with high-volume, seasonal payroll cycles strongly preferred, • Required technical skills: ADP Workforce Now (or comparable payroll platform), HubSpot or comparable CRM, Microsoft Office, • Preferred technical skills: database management tools, Google Analytics or similar; experience with applicant tracking, onboarding systems, and data privacy compliance, • Working knowledge of HR best practices, including onboarding, offboarding, and compliance fundamentals, • Demonstrated commitment to data privacy and the careful handling of sensitive personal information, • Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities with moderate oversight, • Exceptional attention to detail accuracy in payroll, compliance, and employee records is non-negotiable, • Collaborative, adaptable, and self-motivated, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with partner clubs, staff, and community organizations, • Growth-minded and tech-savvy; comfortable evaluating and adopting new tools, and excited to help modernize processes and workflows as the Foundation continues to evolve, • Adaptable to changing priorities and seasonal demands, with a willingness to work long days, evenings, and weekends during peak golf season (April through October), • Prior experience guiding or mentoring interns or junior staff is a plus, • Enthusiasm and willingness to travel locally throughout New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, • Valid drivers license with reliable access to a vehicle, • SafeSport certification required within the first 90 days of hire; MGA will sponsor and arrange the training, • Successful completion of a background check is required as part of the MGAs hiring process, • Knowledge of golf and/or experience working with youth in a sports or recreational setting strongly preferred; nonprofit or youth development experience a plus, • Qualified former GOLFWORKS participants and alumni of the GOLFWORKS program including prior seasonal employees are encouraged to apply. Compensation and Benefits: Salary: $58,000 $70,000, commensurate with experience. This position sits within the Senior Coordinator pay band, with room for growth based on performance and tenure. As the end of this period approaches, MGA will evaluate whether to extend, modify, or conclude the assignment based on organizational needs and your performance. Possible outcomes include renewal of the assignment, transition to a different role, or conclusion of employment. This anticipated end date does not guarantee employment through that date, nor does it limit MGAs ability to extend employment beyond it. The incoming Senior Coordinator will benefit from an extended onboarding period with training and shadowing from the current role-holder, ensuring continuity and a smooth transition.
