Job DescriptionConstruction Estimator - Commercial Estimator Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our construction team. The Estimator will produce accurate cost estimates and bid packages for building projects, support preconstruction activities, and collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure competitive, profitable proposals. The ideal candidate has hands-on construction estimating experience, strong analytical skills, and familiarity with commercial construction and preconstruction workflows. Key Responsibilities • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and bid proposals for construction projects., • Analyze drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to develop accurate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor cost breakdowns., • Solicit, evaluate, and manage subcontractor and vendor quotes; maintain relationships to ensure competitive pricing and reliability., • Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients during pre-bid and preconstruction phases to clarify scope and incorporate client requirements., • Perform value engineering and constructability reviews to identify cost-saving opportunities and risk mitigation., • Develop and maintain estimating databases, cost histories, and bid templates; ensure consistent use of unit costs and assumptions., • Prepare bid summaries, proposal narratives, and pricing documentation for internal review and client submission., • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and bid openings as required; document findings and incorporate into estimates., • Monitor market conditions, material price trends, and labor rates to update assumptions and pricing., • Support contract negotiations and assist in transitioning awarded projects to the operations team with accurate baseline costs.Qualifications, • 3+ years of construction estimating experience; demonstrated success preparing estimates and winning bids., • Proficient in construction takeoff and estimating tools (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, CostX, Sage Estimating) and Microsoft Office., • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control practices., • Excellent ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents., • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy., • Effective verbal and written communication skills; experience coordinating with owners, subcontractors, and project teams., • Reliable organizational skills and ability to manage multiple simultaneous bids to meet deadlines., • Degree or certificate in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field preferred; or equivalent construction experience., • Certified Professional Estimator (CCE) or similar certification is a plus., • Salary Based on Experience: $75,000 - $90,000, • Health Insurance, • Dental Insurance, • Vision Insurance, • 401K, • Paid Vacations, • Paid Holidays, • Sick Leave, • Bonus Potential, • Service Awards, • Fitness Program, • Tuition Assistance, • Career Growth Opportunities - For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
