Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Pipefitter with extensive experience in marine, commercial nuclear, or petro/chemical industries. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to interpret ship piping drawings and have proficiency in fitting carbon steel, CRES, and copper nickel piping. Responsibilities • Read and interpret ship piping drawings., • Fit carbon steel, CRES, and copper-nickel piping., • End-prep piping by hand or using Portsmouth Machine., • Install pipe hangers., • Read a ruler using inches and tenths., • Prep and fit up backing rings., • Clean cut/break pipe with a grinder., • Hand prep V bevels., • Fabricate various details and assemblies from drawings., • Bend pipe from templates and use a hand bender. Job Description NATURE OF WORK The Traffic Signal Installer will be responsible for installation of signal equipment to include trench, conduit, various concrete foundations, pulling of signal cable and building and erection of mast poles and arms as well as span intersections (temporary and permanent installations). WORKING ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is performed outdoors at construction sites, maintenance facilities, and outside environments with exposure to inclement weather. Moderate physical demands: strength sufficient to lift and move items weighing up to seventy-five (75) pounds. This position may require repeated reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, and climbing beside/unto/under a variety of equipment. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: This position requires basic understanding of installation of traffic signals conforming to VDOT specs and standards, ability to operate bucket truck and working on live intersections while maintaining traffic flow. EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: 18 years of age or older; This position is considered an essential position which could require the individual to report to work during inclement weather conditions, with various work hours. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: Knowledge of traffic signal equipment and associated hardware, ability to read and understand plans, OSHA rules and regulations, and safety standards. Must have knowledge of safe and efficient operation/maintenance of small construction equipment, bucket trucks, digger derricks and boom trucks as well as miscellaneous hand held tools according to standard operating procedures.
