Your day-to-day impact You’ll install, maintain, and repair industrial equipment and facility systems by blending electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic know‑how: • Keep assets reliable through preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems, and production machinery using diagrams, sketches, OEM manuals, and engineering specs—troubleshooting issues as they arise., • Find root causes through observation and precision tools; use calipers, micrometers, and test instruments to confirm dimensional and performance data., • Disassemble/assemble machinery using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools; evaluate components by form, fit, and surface condition., • Diagnose and repair 480Vac power systems and 120Vac control circuits; apply electrical meters to read voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, and more., • Install conduit and field wiring across the site; connect power, signal, and control cabling between machines and auxiliary equipment., • Service and replace components such as transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, relays, switches, position-sensing devices, and printed circuit boards; replace motor bearings and perform motor rewinds when needed., • Plan electrical layouts within buildings and install wiring, conduit, and apparatus to code and specification., • Diagnose and correct mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults; lay out, assemble, install, and maintain piping systems; repair/replace gauges, valves, and pressure regulators., • Fabricate and fit repair parts using machine shop equipment; weld and torch‑cut metal to support repairs and installations., • Rig equipment safely for installation or relocation; operate an industrial forklift and work at elevations up to 50 feet., • Read basic blueprints and provide/maintain your own hand tools appropriate to the trade., • Communicate effectively with maintenance leadership, production leaders, and equipment operators to coordinate work., • Manage spare parts: check stock levels, forecast needs, place/expedite orders, and verify receipts while conserving resources., • Document maintenance actions, trends, and irregularities; prepare concise reports and ensure continuity between shifts., • Stay current by attending workshops, reviewing technical publications, and building peer networks., • Champion safety and housekeeping standards; contribute to team goals and continuous improvement. Work schedule and training, • Location: Hampton, Virginia (IGT group), • Available shifts: 1st (Mon–Fri, 7a–3p), 2nd (Mon–Fri, 3p–11p), 3rd (Mon–Fri, 11p–7a), Weekend (Fri–Sun, 7a–7p), • Training: 1st shift (Mon–Fri, 7a–3p) Compensation, • New hire starting rate: $41.70 per hour, • Shift premium: $1.00 per hour while assigned to an off shift What you bring, • Resume required with application., • High school diploma or GED., • Completion of a mechanical, electrical, or multi‑craft apprenticeship (certification required)., • 5–7 years of industrial electro‑mechanical maintenance experience., • Hands‑on background across pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, water systems, PLCs, welding, and analytical troubleshooting., • Comfort working all schedules, including 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and weekend shift; able to work overtime and weekends based on operational needs—flexibility is essential., • Mobile equipment training/certification; ability to operate forklifts., • Strong technical literacy: read/interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write clear reports; speak effectively to groups., • Math proficiency (percentages, proportions, area, circumference, volume) with applied algebra and geometry., • Problem‑solving in environments with limited standardization; interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedule instructions.
