Summary \n We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our team and provide crucial financial insights and analysis to support our manufacturing operations. As the Cost Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in monitoring, evaluating, and improving financial performance, cost control, and profitability for the Heavy Equipment Group at Trident. Expertise in cost accounting, financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and budgeting, will be essential in driving informed decision-making and maximizing operational efficiency. This role will report to the Assistant Manufacturing Controller. \n Responsibilities \n\n • Perform financial analysis and reporting for manufacturing operations, including cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.\n, • Evaluate manufacturing processes, identify areas for cost reduction, and propose recommendations to improve operational efficiency.\n, • Assist in the development and maintenance of standard costs for manufacturing products, ensuring accuracy and relevance.\n, • Update standard labor rates annually to ensure accuracy in both costing and quoting activities\n, • Monitor inventory levels, analyze inventory turnover, and provide recommendations to optimize inventory management.\n, • Provide support to Assistant Controller for Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting and Estimates at Completion (EAC) accounting for Defense Programs as required.\n, • Assist with periodic third-party audits (BDO).\n, • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and finance, to drive cost reduction initiatives and process improvements.\n, • Continually monitor, correct, and update procedures as required to ensure accuracy of the ERP and accounting systems; areas of review include miscoding of A/P, plant reporting, account coding, pricing, and inventory consumption. \n, • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes impacting the manufacturing and financial landscape.\n\n \n Qualifications \n To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is a plus.\n, • Minimum of 1-5 years of experience as a Cost Accountant within a manufacturing environment.\n, • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis.\n, • In-depth knowledge of financial concepts, cost accounting principles, and manufacturing operations.\n, • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management systems.\n, • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work with complex data sets and perform accurate financial analysis.\n, • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.\n, • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.\n, • Familiarity with Workwise, Power BI, and Oracle Financial Close and Consolidation is preferred, but not required.\n, • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is desirable.\n
