Job Description Shift & Training Details This position is for 2nd shift, working 2:15 PM – 12:45 AM, Monday–Thursday Pay rate: $22.00 per hour (including shift differential). Candidates must be available to train on 1st shift for 3–4 weeks (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) before moving to their regular schedule. Position Title: Water Spider (Production Clerk) Position Summary The Water Spider is a vital lean manufacturing support role responsible for ensuring continuous, uninterrupted production flow. This position delivers materials, tools, and consumables to production and assembly lines just-in-time, allowing operators to remain fully focused on value added activities. Acting as a mobile Kanban system, the Water Spider enhances process stability, minimizes waste, and prevents downtime through standardized material handling and replenishment routines. Key Responsibilities • Perform standardized routes to deliver raw materials, components, tools, and consumables to production areas based on Kanban signals or defined replenishment triggers., • Making transactions in SAP and packaging FG., • Remove empty containers, excess materials, scrap, and completed Kanban cards from workstations (if applicable)., • Monitor material levels at each line to prevent shortages, overstocking, and production interruptions (if applicable)., • Ensure accurate delivery of materials to the correct locations, in the correct quantities, and at the correct time., • Support lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kanban, Just In Time (JIT), and continuous flow methodologies., • Communicate proactively with operators, team leads, material handlers, and supervisors regarding material status or emerging issues., • Identify and escalate material shortages, quality concerns, or process abnormalities promptly., • Maintain clean and organized material staging areas; ensure proper labeling and First In First Out (FIFO) compliance., • Follow standardized work instructions and participate in continuous improvement initiatives., • Adhere to all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards at all times. Required Skills and Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent., • Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred., • Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts (Kanban, JIT, 5S) preferred., • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills., • Effective communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams., • Ability to move efficiently throughout the production floor for extended periods., • Ability to lift, push, or pull materials within site safety guidelines., • Basic computer or inventory system proficiency is a plus. Physical Requirements • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching throughout the shift., • Ability to lift and transport materials (typically 10–50 lbs.; assistance provided as needed)., • Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
