Job Description The Human Resources Payroll Clerk is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources department at the corporate office in Gardena, California. This position handles all HR related administrative tasks, processes payroll for 3 location, maintains up-to-date employee records, and provides general support to the HR team. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and has excellent interpersonal skills. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: • Prepares payroll on the weekly basis for CA, NJ and MA locations – Review hours on time and attendance system, run reports, check hours and enter on payroll system, and process., • Audit employee attendance records and vacation requests on payroll system., • Audit and update time off requests on payroll system., • Maintain employee records and files, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies, • Complete onboarding and offboarding processes for new and departing employees, • Collect and maintain employee files, such as applications, resumes, and other documents, • Coordinate recruiting, including scheduling interviews and verifying references., • Coordinate employee work related injury service/care and documentation with carrier, • Coordinate benefits open enrollment, and benefits literature review with broker’s administrative representative, • Coordinate and conduct employee health benefits and 401K orientation, • Perform data entry and filing of all HR related documents, • Ensure prompt communication with employees and timely resolution to their queries, • Routinely tasked with assisting employees with PTOs, Benefits and other HR tasks in support of team and organizational needs, • Coordinates and prepares information for company website including policies and procedures, safety policies, and benefits plan information;, • Provide Spanish translation for employee relations purposes;, • Provide support to the HR Manger with various tasks as needed QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • High School Diploma;, • Previous experience in a Human Resources role preferred;, • Knowledge of basic HR functions;, • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;, • Must be customer service focused;, • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral;, • Knowledge of administrative tasks and responsibilities, • Ability to effectively interact across all levels of the organization;, • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks;, • Ability to work effectively in a team environment;, • Ability to maintain professional appearance and behavior;, • Must possess a strong work ethic;, • Must be proficient in the use of office equipment including computer, voice messaging systems, fax/scanner/copier, proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook, Visual ERP System PHYSICAL EFFORT: This position may occasionally be required to lift, push and pull up to 10 pounds. Must be able to remain in stationary position 50%. Position is located in administrative area but needs to occasionally move inside and throughout production plant. The person in this position frequently communicates with staff and management who have inquiries, therefore, he/she must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None WORK CONTACTS: This position is in contact with Manufacturing personnel, Human Resources and Administrative personnel. SAFETY: Must be able to perform this job safely and aware of safety protocols/practices in the office, shipping and receiving, and production areas. Must be able to read safety manuals, and comply and implement safety procedures. Must wear non slip shoes while on the production areas. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works throughout the premises as needed. Work environment may have noise levels ranging from medium to quiet. The environment for this position varies from clean, climate controlled offices to manufacturing and warehouse areas.
