Job Description Line Cook About Us: Scott's Pointe is a premier destination located in Calverton, NY. Our venue is home to the Lakeview Terrace Bar & Grill, we provide food and beverage service to our restaurant, 2 bars, and lakeside VIP Cabanas. We are able to cater large events such as: corporate banquets, weddings, holiday parties, and other special occasions. About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our team at the Lakeview Terrace Bar & Grill. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare high-quality dishes in line with our menu. You will ensure the cleanliness and efficiency of your workstation and adhere to all health and safety regulations. Key Responsibilities: • Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies., • Preparing food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)., • Cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff., • Ensuring that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion., • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook., • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures., • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks., • Familiarity with industry best practices. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. We're looking for diligent individuals to join our All-Star Culinary Team. About the Role: We are seeking a diligent Prep Cook to join our team at the Lakeview Terrace Bar & Grill. Reporting to the Head Chef, your primary responsibility will be to perform prep work for cooking, including chopping, sorting, sanitizing, and organizing ingredients. This role includes providing service to our beach front lakeside, VIP Cabanas, and at our major catered events. Multiple shifts are available and working a weekend day will be required. Key Responsibilities: • Preparing cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc., • Undertaking basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces and parboiling food., • Preparing simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc., • Maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash., • Ensuring all food and other items are stored properly., • Complying with nutrition and sanitation guidelines.
