We are seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to join our Accounting and Finance Team as Controller. What You'll Do: The Controller is a high-integrity self-starter with the ability to identify issues, think critically and problem-solve. This fast-paced position and dynamic environment requires a candidate who can demonstrate strong general accounting/finance experience in a collaborative environment and is a strong communicator. The Controller will produce financial status reports for senior management and streamline the Company’s financial processes. The Company is seeking improvements in operational efficiency across all functions to drive growth and considers the Controller a key contributor to driving these improvements. The successful candidate will be able to: -Develop, maintain, document and implement financial processes and procedures that provide a foundation for scalability in all areas of the business-Maintain the current accounting general ledger and technology stack, and add new technologies that enhance efficiency and accuracy-Prepare and review account reconciliations, particularly of all key balance sheet accounts-Oversee revenue recognition calculations and accounting-Develop robust budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting to support PE-driven growth targets and investor reporting-Oversee treasury function-Review and approval of initial purchase accounting and OBS entries for acquisitions-Review and revise purchase accounting at year end to comply with GAAP in advance of audit-Oversee and manage the month-end close process-Oversee and hold accountable the Company’s outsourced accounting partner (RSM)-Oversee Payroll team and liaise with HR to administer full-cycle Payroll process on both a weekly and bi- weekly schedule, maximizing payroll efficiency-Assist in the maintenance and development of efficient business practices, policies, and procedures used in the ERP environment-Prepare financial analyses, reports, and financial statements-Review and approve journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded appropriately-Integrate future acquisitions financially and operationally-Assist with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities-Assist advisors in tax preparation, compliance issues filing and compliance matters-Oversee in-sourcing of all accounting functions (in 2026) and assume responsibility for the financial tech- stack (Intacct, Bill, Tallie, Blackline, etc.)-Assist with special projects, as needed, but expected on a regular basis -Perform any and all other duties as assigned What You’ll Bring: -Bachelor’s degree in Accounting-8+ years of hands-on accounting and finance experience with multi-site healthcare providers-CPA preferred-Tech-savvy, problem-solving mindset focused on continual process improvement-Advanced Excel/modeling; experience with healthcare-specific or mid-market ERP/accounting systems (Sage Intacct preferred)-Broad understanding and experience with medical/dental revenue cycle complexities and revenue recognition-Proactive—not just historical reporting, but forward-looking: forecasting production growth, supporting M&A due diligence, identifying cost efficiencies, and contributing to strategic planning-Ability to manage mid-sized accounting team, mentor staff, and collaborate cross-functionally (with Regional Operations Managers, FP&A, surgeons, revenue cycle, etc.)-Ability to scale processes as the Company adds practices without losing accuracy or controls -Experience in integrating acquisitions preferred-High integrity, high energy,, collegial and experience working in a Private Equity environment preferred-Strong interpersonal and communication skills Perks of the Job: -Highly competitive salaries & annual performance bonus and compensation reviews annually-Competitive health insurance and benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and more -401k retirement savings plan that includes employer match -Generous Paid Time Off, sick leave, and paid holidays -Advance your career growth with opportunities in the most extensive growing oral surgery practice in the Northeast About MAX Surgical Specialty Management: Established in September 2022 as the Northeast region’s first oral and maxillofacial surgery-only specialty platform, MAX Surgical Specialty Management is a surgeon-led management services organization developed with clinical and surgeon autonomy at its core.
