Job DescriptionWho We Are: The Children's Home mission is to partner with children, families, and communities throughout New York State to inspire hope, develop skills and cultivate healthy relationships for positive futures.$18 per hour Two openings: Opening 1 - Sunday 11-7, Mon-Tue 7-3, and Wed-Thur 8-4 Opening 2 - Tue 11-7, Wed 8-4, Thur 11-7, Fri 1-9, Sat 11-7 Position Summary: The Custodian will help keep the Southern Tier Community Center clean and safe. They will clean areas like floors, windows, restrooms, and offices by sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing. The custodian will also manage cleaning supplies, handle waste properly, and report any maintenance issues. This person should be comfortable working with a diverse group of people, including youth and other employees. The custodian's work will help create a clean, safe, and pleasant environment for all who use the building. Responsibilities • Perform general custodial duties to maintain cleanliness and orderliness of assigned areas, • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including replenishing supplies, • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, • Dust and wipe down surfaces, • Empty trash receptacles and replace liners, • Clean windows and glass surfaces, • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and fixing minor plumbing issues, • Follow established cleaning procedures and safety guidelines, • Adhere to any specific cleaning requirements or protocols for specialized areas (e.g., laboratories, healthcare facilities) RequirementsEducation • High School Diploma or GED requiredExperience, • 6 months - 1 year of experience in facilities maintenance or commercial cleaning required, • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment, • Familiarity with floor care, including buffing and waxing, • Driver's Licensed with the ability to maintain insurance throughout employment required.BenefitsBenefits available to all staff:, • Student Loan and Tuition Reimbursement, • Employee Assistance Program, • Employee Discounts at the Southern Tier Community Center, • Opportunities for Professional DevelopmentFull Time Benefits:, • Agency-Paid CEUs, License Prep Course, and License Exam, • 403(b) with 6% employer contribution, • PTO plus 9 paid holidays, • Childcare Reimbursement, • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance (with HSA/FSA Accounts) Job Posted by ApplicantPro
