Job DescriptionSalary: 70-79k Account Manager (Garden Relationship Manager) Role Overview We are hiring an experienced Account Manager (Garden Relationship Manager) to own and manage relationships with a portfolio of high-end residential landscape clients. This role is responsible for client satisfaction, retention, and revenue growth through proactive communication, clear expectation-setting, and close coordination with internal teams. This position reports to the Head of Operations and works closely with our Service Manager and Quality Manager as part of a highly collaborative team. The role regularly interfaces with designers, administrative staff, and construction crews depending on project scope and client needs. This is a senior-level role. We are not looking for entry-level candidates or career switchers. The right person brings confidence, judgment, and a track record of managing demanding clients in a service-based environment. What Success Looks Like Strong performers in this role bring clarity to complexity. They take ownership, ask the right questions early, and prevent issues before they escalate. They are comfortable with accountability and understand that clarity is a strength, not a risk. In the first 90 days, success looks like building a deep, working understanding of our properties, clients, and internal teams by spending time in the field and on-site. This role requires getting hands dirty in the theoretical sense: walking properties, meeting crews, meeting clients, and learning how the work actually happens. This is not a desk-only role, but it is not a labor role. Key Responsibilities • Own a defined book of business consisting of high-end residential landscape clients, currently totaling approximately $3M in annual managed revenue, • Serve as the primary point of contact for all client communication, • Build trusted, long-term relationships through regular check-ins and site walks, • Proactively identify risks, concerns, and opportunities within each account, • Translate client needs and feedback into clear direction for internal teams, • Coordinate closely with operations, service management, quality management, and design teams to ensure scope, timelines, and quality expectations are met, • Manage scope changes and upsell opportunities in a professional, consultative manner, • Protect margins by setting and reinforcing clear expectations, • Resolve issues decisively and professionally when problems arise, • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with operations, service, quality, design, administrative, and field teams, • 5+ years of experience in account management, client services, or relationship management, • Proven experience working with high-end residential clients, • Background in landscaping, landscape maintenance, construction, property services, or a related field strongly preferred, • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client relationships and a multi-million-dollar book of business, • Strong communication skills with the confidence to handle difficult conversations, • High level of ownership, accountability, and follow-through, • Valid drivers license and ability to travel to managed properties as needed, • Total compensation target: approximately $100,000+ annually, • Base salary: competitive, expected to fall within the $70,000$79,000 range depending on experience, • Performance-based incentives tied to size of managed book and client retention, • Bonus potential is uncapped and scales with responsibility and performance, • Opportunity to grow the size of the managed book over time, based on capability and results, • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, • 401(k) with company match after one year of employment, • Entry-level candidates or recent graduates, • Pure sales roles focused primarily on commission or quota chasing, • Candidates looking for a narrowly defined role with rigid guardrails, • Individuals uncomfortable with accountability, visibility, or ownership, • People who avoid field exposure and prefer to manage relationships solely from a desk This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who values ownership, clarity, and long-term client relationships. We are in a significant growth phase, and this position will evolve alongside the business. While we have a clear understanding of what we need at a base level today, there is flexibility in how this role develops. The right person will have the opportunity to help shape the function, define best practices, and take on increased responsibility as the business grows. This is a role for someone who sees growth and ambiguity as opportunity, not risk. We do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status.
