Job DescriptionSalary: 1) Purpose of Role Install, terminate, and test electrical systems in accordance with drawings, specifications, the National Electrical Code (NEC), and GTI safety and quality standards. Deliver safe, ontime, and codecompliant work while supporting crew productivity and mentoring apprentices. 2) Scope & Decision Rights • Plan and execute assigned installations, terminations, and tests per prints, RFIs, and supervisor direction., • Identify code/safety risks and escalate; recommend field adjustments that maintain scope, schedule, and quality., • Document work in company systems (e.g., daily JSA notes, basic Procore logs) in alignment with foreman guidance. 3) Essential Duties and Standards • Read and interpret electrical drawings, onelines, and schedules; verify material, raceway sizes, and conductor types., • Install raceways,bend and thread conduit, mount boxes/panels, and pull/terminate conductors to spec., • Perform terminations on panels, equipment, and devices; torque to manufacturer specs and label per project standards., • Apply NEC requirements for grounding/bonding, conductor ampacity, overcurrent protection, and working clearances., • Perform functional checks and electrical testing (e.g., continuity, insulation resistance, voltage) with appropriate instruments., • Complete daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA); use PPE; follow LOTO where applicable; maintain clean, orderly work areas., • Support quality control by selfinspecting work, correcting deficiencies, and participating in punchlist closeout., • Coordinate with foremen on sequencing, lookaheads, and material requests; provide input to RFIs when needed., • Mentor apprentices on safety, workmanship, tool use, and codecompliant installation practices. 4) Critical Competencies (must-demonstrate) • Blueprint Reading; Electrical Wiring; Conduit Installation/Bending; Cable Pulling; Panel Termination; Grounding & Bonding., • Electrical Testing & Troubleshooting; Job Safety Analysis; Quality Control; Communication; Time Management; Team Collaboration. 5) Qualifications • A minimum 8,000 documented hours of on-the-job training (OJT) or a state journeyman electrician license., • Ability to read/interpret electrical drawings required., • Demonstrated proficiency with NECcompliant installations: raceways, conductors, terminations, grounding/bonding., • Proficiency with electrical test instruments (e.g., multimeter, megohmmeter) and safe work practices (PPE, LOTO, JSA)., • Valid driverslicense;ability to operate lifts/forklifts as assigned (certifications a plus)., • OSHA 10Hour Construction card required.First Aid/CPR Certifications preferred. 6) Performance Measure Buckets • Safety & Compliance: JSA quality, PPE/LOTO adherence, zero serious incidents, NEC/code compliance., • Quality: firsttime pass rates on inspections, deficiency rate/punch items, labeling/torque accuracy., • Schedule & Productivity: task duration adherence, cable/conduit install rates, responsiveness to lookahead plans., • Documentation & Communication: accuracy of basic logs, clarity of handoffs, coordination with foreman and other trades., • Team & Mentorship: coaching apprentices, professionalism, and contribution to crew culture.
