Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Program Director, Dayspring Youth Services FLSA: Non-Exempt DEPARTMENT: Community Services REPORTS TO: Director, Dayspring Campus LOCATION: Yonkers, NY SALARY: $50000.00 -$ 60000.00/annual SUMMARY: The Program Director of Dayspring Youth Services is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Dayspring After School and Summer Camp program including student recruitment, curriculum development and program implementation, supervision of Youth Counselors, program coordination, parent engagement and outreach, and program reporting. The Program Director will ensure the delivery of a safe, effective, and comprehensive program for children ages 5 to 12 years old, and may also support teens who attend the teen center, when needed. Reports to the Director of Dayspring Campus. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Oversees the scheduling and implementation of weekly planned youth services activities including the development of academic, enrichment, and recreational program components., • Supervise a team of Youth Counselors. Conducting daily team “check-ins,” provide individual supervision sessions and evaluations (monthly), and developing monthly team trainings., • Oversee the management of the recruitment of new student participants while maintaining the After-School program numbers., • Engage with parents during the onboarding process of student participants ensuring the registration process is met with completion (medical forms, consents, and releases)., • Perform parent orientations for newly admitted students and inform families of program events, campaigns and notices throughout the year., • Establishes standards; monitors youth counselors on safe supervision of children while maintaining agency and OCFS policies and procedures at all times., • Represents case-specific and general youth issues at interdepartmental meetings (Dayspring and Youth Service meetings)., • Identifies staff development needs of youth services staff and makes recommendations to the Director of Dayspring Community Center., • Work collaboratively with the Assistant Director to ensure seamless services are provided to afterschool students and teens, • Compiles accurate statistics and data (attendance, student demographics, etc.) on after school program and activities into a comprehensive, outcome oriented monthly narrative or report related to the program, funder, and/or agency requirements and program evaluation., • Plan special projects and events with a focus on parent engagement., • Place orders of request, prepare, and maintain needed program materials for daily operation, • Collaborate with Dayspring Community Center staff for programmatic needs such as outreach, attendance, and partnering with third-party organizations., • Meet regularly with the Director of Dayspring Campus to provide programmatic updates and administrative tasks while seeking support for logistics and operations., • Coordinate with the Director of Dayspring Campus contract requirements (CACFP, Skills for Life, etc.) relative to youth activities with the appropriate agencies., • May perform other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: BA degree preferred. Experience as a supervisor and experience working with children necessary. Experience working with homeless or low-income population preferred. Energetic, multi-task-oriented team player desirable. Program hours include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
