Job Description Job Title: AutoCAD Drafter Classification: Salary, Full Time, Exempt Department: Engineering Location: Kearny, New Jersey Direct Supervisor: Engineering Manager Job Summary: The AutoCAD Drafter utilizes software to provide support to Engineering and Operations by preparing routine and detailed layouts for various disciplines including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, piping, and as-built drawings. They create Front End Engineering Drawings (FEED), support regulatory maintenance of drawings through routine reviews, and store drawings in the form of up-to-date drawing history within the company filing system, all while adhering to corporate technical standards. The AutoCAD Drafter has a solid understanding of drafting techniques, design layouts, and engineering terminology. Additionally, they possess mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Tekla Drafter/Detailer with a strong background in structural steel detailing to support the preparation of shop drawings and erection plans. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience working in Tekla Structures and be comfortable coordinating with engineers, fabricators, and contractors to ensure accurate and efficient detailing. Responsibilities: • Create 3D models and generate detailed shop and erection drawings using Tekla Structures., • Interpret structural engineering drawings, specifications, and design intent., • Coordinate with project engineers and fabricators to resolve detailing issues., • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (AISC, AWS, etc.)., • Manage drawing revisions and updates throughout the fabrication process.
