Associate Designer Job Summary The position involves the design & drafting of medical device products. There will be collaboration with both internal teammates and medical professionals to ensure technical requirements for each project are met. This includes the ability to demonstrate an understanding of medical procedures and anatomy. The employee must then use design software to create 3D models of the parts. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities • Learn and demonstrate knowledge of the complete product range of our medical device value streams as it pertains to their division., • Learn and demonstrate the ability to identify technical requirements of the customer, in collaboration with other team members., • Learn and demonstrate the ability to design products that follow technical requirements, as well as regulatory and internal guidelines., • Learn and demonstrate the ability to abide by regulatory and internal guidelines for the design and manufacturing of our products., • Learn and demonstrate the ability to depict parts and their technical features so that purpose and desired manufacturing output are clear., • Learn and demonstrate the ability to design and execute tests to simulate product use for verifying and validating product performance, reliability, and usability., • Learn and demonstrate the ability to participate in the creation and maintenance of files specific to each patient project., • Additional duties may be assigned the Associate Designer Education and Experience Requirements • AS in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Bioengineering, Biomedical) OR comparable degree/certification in a technical/medical field, • Prior experience with 3D modeling software (Solidworks, AutoCAD, Rhino, Fusion 360, Creo, NX, Inventor, etc.), • Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Genuine want / interest to work in Medical Device, • Someone who enjoys designing and drafting, • Someone who has an artistic background would be very beneficial, • Adhere and support our quality and safety policies and procedures., • Ability to learn new software quickly., • Ability to retrieve and interpret documentation., • Customer support skills., • Able to work independently under minimal supervision., • Able to efficiently communicate and collaborate amongst a team., • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels internally, as well as externally., • Problem solving, • Critical thinking, • Decision making, • Adaptability & flexibility, • Math skills (basic & advanced) Local Candidates are preferred. The Drafter (CAD) is responsible for preparing and revising detailed technical drawings and documentation for industrial refrigeration projects under the direction of Engineering and Project Management. This position supports the Engineering Department by translating design concepts, markups, and specifications into accurate CAD drawings in accordance with company standards. The role is primarily focused on drafting, drawing production, and document control and does not include responsibility for engineering design calculations or system design authority. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (Additional duties may be assigned). · Prepare detailed 2D and/or 3D CAD drawings for industrial refrigeration systems (NH3 and/or CO2 preferred but not required). · Develop and revise PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layouts, isometrics, and installation drawings. · Update drawings based on engineer redlines and project revisions. · Maintain drawing standards and file organization in accordance with company procedures. · Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and field teams to ensure drawing accuracy and completeness. · Assist with preparation of equipment schedules, bill of materials, and documentation packages. · Ensure drawings comply with company standards and applicable codes as directed by engineering staff. · Support as-built drawing updates following project completion. Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS: · High school diploma or equivalent required. · Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, CAD Technology, or related field preferred. · Minimum 1–3 years of experience using AutoCAD required. · Experience with Revit or Plant 3D is a plus. · Industrial refrigeration or mechanical drafting experience preferred but not required. · Strong attention to detail and accuracy. · Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. · Good organizational and time management skills. · Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. EQUIPMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Standard office environment with occasional site visits to industrial refrigeration facilities. Must be able to sit for long periods and work on a computer; occasional walking, standing, climbing ladders, and carrying up to 25 lbs during site visits. Must be comfortable working around active refrigeration equipment and in cold environments with PPE as required. COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Teams) and AutoCAD; Revit/Plant 3D and refrigeration analysis tools preferred.

AutoCAD skills are important, but a strong survey background is the priority, and CAD proficiency can be further developed for the right candidate. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement * Interpret construction plans, specifications, and survey control information accurately. * Coordinate closely with field crews, project engineers, and management. * Assist in improving survey accuracy, workflows, and efficiency across projects. What We’re Looking ForRequired Experience & Skills * 1–3+ years of construction survey experience required (layout, utilities, grading, or civil site work). * Hands-on experience with GPS and total station equipment (Trimble, Topcon, or similar). * Strong understanding of construction layout, control, and as-built verification. * Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and specifications. * Strong attention to detail, organization, and accountability. * Ability to work both outdoors in the field and in an office environment. Preferred (Not Required) * Crew Chief experience or experience leading survey layout operations. * AutoCAD Civil 3D experience (additional training provided as needed). * Experience producing as-built drawings or survey documentation. * Familiarity with construction software such as HCSS HeavyJob.
