Job Description Works-in-Progress Associates (WPA) is currently seeking a Junior Inspector to join our team! The project involves Design-Build activities to develop, furnish, commission, and install a Laser Intrusion Detection System (LIDS) at 13 under river tube portals and 28 stations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, and Queens. The candidate must be flexible regarding work schedule and open to working nights and weekends. Scope of the Work: • Installation laser scanner for the LIDS in the Project’s thirteen (13) under river tubes and twenty-eight (28) stations at both portals and emergency exit shafts at the track level access point. Removal of existing motion detectors and sensors that the laser scanner portion of the LIDS will replace as intrusion detection. Installation of tamper-resistant card readers and internet protocol (IP) intercoms at all approaches outside of the laser scanner’s detection area, to allow MTA employees access without triggering LIDS’s alarm., • Removal of existing analog cameras at some Work Sites to be replaced with IP-cameras, to be connected to new/or existing Network Panels., • Upgrade/replace Access Control Panels (ACP) and Fiber Distribution Panels (FDP), with panels located in the tubes, emergency exit shafts, and at the End of Platform at the twenty-nine (29) stations. The ACP – both new and upgraded – will include equipment for the new LIDS and tamper resistant switches on enclosures and cyber locks. At certain locations, Access Control/Fiber Distribution Panel may be combined in place of 2 separate panels. This includes coordinating, arranging, and managing the flagging support, access and protection, agency inspection and test witnessing, track outages, work trains and other agency provided equipment and materials, and other related services., • Any issues or problems encountered during the execution of work shall be resolved expeditiously to avoid impacting the project performance.
