Job DescriptionJob Title: Forklift Operator Job Description This role operates stand-up and sit-down forklifts in a warehouse and manufacturing environment to move, load, unload, and stage palletized materials. The position also uses RF scanners and computer systems to accurately track inventory in and out of the facility, while supporting general warehouse tasks as needed. Responsibilities • Operate traditional stand-up and sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently in a warehouse and manufacturing environment., • Handle pallets by stacking, loading, unloading, and staging materials according to established procedures., • Use RF scanners and computer systems to scan inventory in and out and maintain accurate inventory records., • Support shipping and receiving activities, including moving materials to and from designated areas., • Use electric pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as required., • Assist with general warehouse duties such as sweeping, cleaning, and organizing work areas., • Follow all safety guidelines and facility procedures while operating equipment and performing daily tasks., • Communicate effectively in more than one language to coordinate work and ensure accurate task completion.Essential Skills, • 1–2 years of experience operating either a sit-down or traditional stand-up forklift in a warehouse environment., • Proficiency operating sit-down forklifts and traditional stand-up forklifts., • Ability to use RF scanners to scan inventory in and out of the system., • Ability to use computer systems for inventory tracking and related warehouse tasks., • Experience handling pallets, including stacking, loading, unloading, and staging., • Ability to operate an electric pallet jack for material handling., • Ability to communicate effectively in more than one language., • Willingness to perform additional tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, and organizing as needed.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Forklift certification for traditional stand-up or sit-down equipment is preferred., • Previous inventory control experience is a plus., • Experience in shipping and receiving is a plus., • Comfort working within a manufacturing facility., • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when scanning and recording inventory.Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is based within a manufacturing facility that includes a warehouse environment, where you regularly operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, electric pallet jacks, RF scanners, and computer systems. The schedule runs on a day shift from Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., offering predictable hours in a fast-paced, hands-on setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bayonne, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
