Job DescriptionFull and Part-Time Game Facilitator We are currently seeking active, passionate, and customer service-savvy professionals for the role of Game Facilitator. This position keeps you constantly on the move, with limited time spent sitting down. It may involve tasks that require you to be actively present and responsive in a fast-paced work environment. Activate is taking entertainment into the future by fusing technology and physical activity together to create live-action gaming experiences. You and your group enter a game experience and become the players to actively and mentally complete challenges. Key Responsibilities: • Check customers in, take payments, and make reservations, • Brief new groups prior to the start of the game;, • Monitor customers in the gaming area and provide explanations if necessary;, • Participating with customers in active games if needed to ensure customers have an excellent experience;, • Maintain the rooms by cleaning, painting, and any required maintenance;, • Troubleshoot, identify, and make minor repairs in the event of a malfunction; Required Skills and Qualifications: • Strong communication, multi-tasking, and time management skills, • Must be flexible and available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, • Ability to adapt to unforeseen situations in a calm and efficient manner, • Must be a people person - energetic, friendly, and outgoing, with the ability to command attention in a crowd., • A strong customer service orientation with a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience., • Must be willing to work various shifts starting as early as 9 am and ending as late as 1 am. Managers will work within the given availability, • Some troubleshooting and technical ability that can be applied to a wide variety of equipment repair/maintenance needs. Job Description Organize and implement all aspects and technical portions of core and supplemental underage drinking and drunk driving prevention programs for targeted populations at the State and Local level. Responsible for all program administration including regular liaison and reporting, achievement of established performance objectives, development of programs to achieve objectives and adherence to all program and/or grant policies and guidelines. This is a remote, work from home position, which will require 40% travel in the local community, availability during daytime working hours, and the selected candidate to reside in the general Long Island, NY or Mineola, NY area. The individual hired will need to have reliable transportation as they will oversee initiatives within the following counties on Long Island: Suffolk and Nassau, as well as the five boroughs of New York City: Queens, Kings (Brooklyn), Richmond (Staten Island), Manhattan, & the Bronx. This position pays $25/hour at 20 hours per week. RESPONSIBILITIES • Ensure that goals and objectives as designated by MADD management and/or the grantor are achieved by developing and designing events targeted to accomplish specific objectives and providing marketing and outreach of the program to community agencies. Ensure that grant proposals include MADD’s program directives., • Manage the implementation and logistics of adult drunk driving prevention and underage drinking prevention programs through the design and facilitation of training programs at the State and Local level., • Organize and host orientation meetings, evaluation meetings, facilitator training and facilitation of parent workshops and student presentations., • Source and recruit volunteers, as needed, for applicable programs. Provide training, guidance, support and motivation to volunteers and staff by conducting training meetings, telephone coaching and on-site assistance., • Maintain tracking and data collection of programs and/or grant results, financial reports, and the progress for evaluation and improvement. Identify areas that are not fully utilizing the resources available and ensure assistance is provided in a timely manner., • Participate in the implementation of National program evaluation measures., • Bachelor’s degree in related field such as Human Services or equivalent experience., • One to two years’ experience in work with the implementation of community awareness, education, partnership and youth programs specifically related to community health. Previous experience working with programs or grant administration helpful., • Travel and flexible hours are required., • Strong organizational skills, be detail oriented with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and execute in a high-volume environment., • Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop and convey thoughts clearly, logically, and concisely both orally and in writing, using appropriate grammar and command of the English language., • Ability to work both independently and with others to resolve issues and maintain composure and professionalism in an environment of changing and/or multiple priorities., • Must be able to work on a timetable, meet deadlines, follow instructions, and accept direction on given assignments., • Strong work ethic with the ability to maintain a high activity level., • Must have exceptional internal and external customer service orientation., • Must have demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and be familiar with entering data into on-line systems. Should also have basic record keeping and math skills., • Ability to maintain social, ethical, and organizational standards in job related activities, at work and in the community., • Ability to maintain workplace confidentiality and take ownership/accountability for own actions and aspects of the job. The Comprehensive Afterschool System (COMPASS) of NYC program serves young people enrolled in grades K-12. SONYC, which stands for Schools Out NYC, is the COMPASS middle school model that serves as a pathway to success for youth in 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Structured like clubs, the model offers youth choice in how they spend their time; provides rigorous instruction in sports, arts and youth leadership. NYC becomes the classroom through trips and opportunities for instruction beyond the traditional facilities. Programs are offered 5 days per week during the school year. Services are also offered during the summer months. This specific outreach operates under the SQPA umbrella through use of its facilities, programming and thought leaders. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES The Activity specialist should have an interest in working with youths. They should show expertise in one or more disciplines or content-specific program activities or subjects such as dance, drama, STEAM, sports (typical and playground games), or other activity or subject that enriches the experiences of children and youth.The Activity Specialist is responsible for creating age-appropriate activities and to also monitor student progress. The Activity Specialist also provides academic support to meet the specific needs of students. The instructor will be responsible for developing lesson plans and implementing activities in accordance with the safety rules and regulations that coincide with departmental rules, regulations, and safety practices. Primary Job Duties: • Develop and implement a diverse range of age-appropriate activities, including arts, sports, academic enrichment, and recreational games., • Ensure activities align with the programs goals and objectives, focusing on youth development, social-emotional learning, and skill-building., • Lead and supervise groups of children during activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment. Collaborate with other staff members to plan special events, field trips, and themed programming., • Monitor and assess the needs and interests of program participants to adjust activities accordingly., • Maintain accurate attendance records and activity logs for program evaluation and reporting., • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on their child(ren)'s progress and participation., • Assist in the setup, cleanup, and organization of program materials and spaces., • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of all participants., • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required., • Support the programs mission and values by modeling positive behavior and fostering a respectful and inclusive environment., • Plan curriculum and develop activity plans in collaboration with the educational specialist orother identified staff., • Understands, articulates and utilizes the DYCD core competencies in conjunction with instruction and planning., • Participates in program evaluation processes; completes staff satisfaction surveys.
