Job Description Dallas, TX | Night Shift | Full-Time $1,500 PER WEEK + Uncapped Commission • HOME DAILY • NO-TOUCH FREIGHT • DROP & HOOK We are an Independent Contractor for FedEx Express Linehaul Delivery, and we are looking for reliable and professional Class A CDL Drivers to join our growing Night Shift team. Current or recent FedEx Linehaul CDL drivers are highly encouraged to apply! Position Overview This is an unassigned Night Shift position, meaning each night may look different depending on operational needs. The primary responsibility is pulling trailers from one terminal to another. Runs may be local or regional. Drivers are home each day. Typical Shift Approximately 9:00–10:00 PM until 6:00–7:00 AM Drivers are expected to work at least 5 nights per week and must be available and flexible for the operational needs of the position. No-Touch Freight Drivers are responsible for drop-and-hook operations only. There is no loading or unloading of freight. This position is focused on moving trailers between terminals efficiently and safely. Compensation & Benefits Weekly Pay Base salary each week Mileage Incentive - uncapped This is a W-2 position. Doubles and Triples Endorsement - must have or willing to get immediately What We're Looking For Drivers must: • Hold a valid unrestricted Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), • Have a clean MVR, • Be willing to work night shifts, • Be available to work at least 5 nights per week, • Be willing to work weekends when operationally required, • Be flexible and able to adapt to changing assignments and operational needs, • Be comfortable operating local and regional routes, • Be willing to operate occasional longer-distance runs, such as Dallas to Houston and back, • Be comfortable with no-touch freight and drop-and-hook operations, • Have a positive and professional attitude, • Communicate effectively with dispatch and management, • Be comfortable taking direction while also working independently with minimal supervision, • Be willing to undergo a background check and drug test, • Be motivated to perform safely and professionally Current or recent FedEx Linehaul CDL experience is highly encouraged. Commercial Driver's License Requirements • Must possess an unrestricted Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), • Learner's permits or restricted licenses are not acceptable, • Candidates must meet all applicable driving and qualification requirements for the operation, • Candidates must meet all applicable FedEx qualification requirements Doubles/Triples endorsement and experience are relevant to this position. Candidates should be prepared to discuss their endorsement and experience during the interview. Driving Record Requirements Applicants must have: Preventable Accidents No record of a preventable accident resulting in: • A fatality, • Serious injury, • A payout greater than $100,000 Within the Past 12 Months No record, citation, or conviction for: • Using a handheld mobile phone or texting while operating a CMV, • Failing to properly wear a seatbelt while operating or riding as a passenger in a CMV, • More than one CSA Unsafe Driving BASIC instance involving Dangerous Driving, Speeding 3, or Speeding 4 in a work or construction zone, • CSA violations involving Hazardous Materials Load Securement, Texting, Phone Call, or Seat Belt violations Within the Past 36 Months No record, citation, or conviction for: • More than two moving violations, • More than one preventable accident, or more than one preventable accident combined with one moving violation, • Operating a vehicle without a valid or proper license, including driving with an expired, suspended, revoked, or canceled license, • More than one driver's license suspension of 30 days or more for moving violations, • Reckless, aggressive, or careless driving that endangers a vehicle or others, • Exceeding the posted speed limit by 15 MPH or more, • Operating a CMV without required medical certification, • Operating a vehicle containing alcoholic beverages, drugs, or controlled substances contrary to law, • Any offense resulting in suspension of driving privileges due to excessive or serious moving violations, • Violating an out-of-service order, • Falsifying documents related to DOT compliance, • Carrying or transporting unauthorized passengers in a CMV, • CSA violations involving Driver Fitness or Hours of Service, including Jumping Out-of-Service orders, Fraud, or Driver Fatigue Within the Past 60 Months No record, citation, or conviction for: • Operating any vehicle while unlawfully under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or controlled substances, • Failing to submit to or pass DOT-required drug, controlled substance, or alcohol testing, • Failing to stop or remain at the scene of an accident, • Failing to yield to a school bus and causing an accident, • Failing to yield at a railroad crossing while transporting hazardous materials in a CMV, • Fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement, • Using any vehicle in connection with the commission of a felony, • An excessive pattern of moving violations, defined as five or more moving violations within the previous 60 months Criminal Background Requirements Applicants must meet the following minimum clearance periods: • Felony: At least seven (7) years from the date of clearance, including completion of probation, parole, incarceration, or court-ordered diversion, • DUI/DWI: At least five (5) years, • Misdemeanor: At least three (3) years Applicants will not qualify if they have been convicted of a crime related to sexual abuse and are subject to an active court order requiring registration as a sexual offender.
