Job Description Position Title Full-Time Nursing Faculty – BSN Program Description At Chattanooga College MDTC, the Full-Time Nursing Faculty – BSN Program will help implement our strategy of “Where a small school can make a BIG difference!!”. The Full-Time Nursing Faculty – BSN Program will provide high-quality, student-centered instruction to pre-licensure and RN-to-BSN nursing students to support academic success, engagement, and program completion. This includes responsibilities such as delivering didactic content, facilitating online learning activities, assessing student performance, and providing individualized feedback and support. Ideal candidates must have excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and listening skills. Candidates must be able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and manage multiple priorities and changing assignments. This is an instructional position supporting the Division of Nursing. This role requires considerable interaction with students, faculty, and academic leadership through individual meetings, group sessions, and/or events. Full-Time Nursing Faculty are expected to possess extensive knowledge of nursing practice, curriculum standards, online pedagogy, and accreditation expectations. They must be able to interpret individual needs, provide personalized support, and work effectively with individuals who may be confused, stressed, or demanding. Employees in this role can expect to support individuals regarding course expectations, academic progress, and professional development, assist with decision-making related to academic success, and help guide individuals toward successful outcomes. This position requires maintaining confidentiality and accurate records to ensure compliance with accreditation standards, institutional policies, and federal regulations (e.g., FERPA, as applicable). The role may also support institutional events such as Orientation, Graduation, assessment initiatives, or program improvement efforts. A strong commitment to equity, access, and success for underrepresented or at-risk populations is essential. Responsibilities • Provides online didactic instruction and academic support to a diverse population of nursing students, including regular contact regarding progress and performance., • Implements institutional or departmental strategic priorities related to retention, completion, engagement, and compliance., • Counsels, advises, or supports individuals through individual and group sessions to address concerns and provide guidance., • Educates individuals on institutional resources, policies, procedures, and expectations., • Implements solutions, including technology, to promote efficiency, access, and success., • Completes required professional development and training annually., • Supports department-wide and student services initiatives, including program assessment activities., • Maintains accurate documentation and records in compliance with institutional, accreditation, and federal requirements., • Collaborates with departments and colleagues to increase engagement, retention, and success, especially for at-risk populations., • Provides appropriate referrals for personal, social, and/or academic concerns that may impair success., • Upholds confidentiality and complies with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and federal regulations., • Assists with planning and coordination of events such as Orientation, Graduation, skills days, or HESI testing., • Maintains tools, systems, or resources necessary to effectively perform job duties, including learning management systems., • Remains current on relevant nursing education standards, emerging best practices, and research related to the role., • Collaborates with the BSN Program Director and Dean of Nursing., • Please note: This job description is not exhaustive, and additional duties may be assigned as needed. Education & Experience • Education or Training:, • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution is required; a graduate degree in nursing or education (DNP, PhD, or EdD) is preferred., • Experience:, • A minimum of four (4) years of recent clinical nursing experience is preferred; experience in higher education, online teaching, or BSN/RN-to-BSN programs is preferred. Other Requirements • Unencumbered, active U.S. RN license (licensure in the state of program delivery may be required)., • Position is hybrid and will require being on campus for labs, skills days, and HESI testing., • Reliable internet access and a secure, quiet remote work environment when working off campus., • Flexible schedule, including potential evening or weekend grading or communication responsibilities.
