About Hopes Promise Respite Hopes Promise provides supportive, relationshipcentered services for youth with intellectual/developmental disabilities and their families. Our mentors offer stability, encouragement, and healthy connection and theyre backed by a team that provides training, structure, and ongoing support every step of the way. If youre someone who shows up consistently, communicates clearly, and enjoys building trust with young people, this role is a great fit. What Youll Do As a Mentor, youll be paired with one youth and meet consistently to build rapport, model healthy boundaries, and support their goals. You are never expected to fix anything your presence, reliability, and encouragement matter most. Your responsibilities include: • Meeting with your assigned youth weekly for at home or communitybased activities, • Driving your assigned youth to and from visit activities in your personal vehicle, • Building a safe, supportive, judgmentfree relationship, • Modeling healthy communication and boundaries, • Following the youths individualized plan and activity guidelines, • Documenting visits in a simple, structured format, • Communicating with your supervisor about progress, concerns, or wins, • Structured onboarding with clear expectations, • Specialized training before youre matched, • Weekly support checkins during your first month, • A team that celebrates small wins because they matterThis is not a casual role. Its a commitment to each assigned youth for 612 months, and we support you so you can show up with confidence.
