Job DescriptionAzure/Network Architect Azure / Network Architect (Leadership Role) Location: Greenwich CT, Hybrid workweek, local candidates only please Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: up to $180,000 base plus discretionary bonus, compensation is based on experience and skills About the Role: We are embarking on a major transformation initiative and seeking an experienced Azure/Network Architect with strong leadership skills to guide our organization through a greenfield modernization effort. This role will lead the architectural strategy, design, and delivery as we transition from a Cisco firewall environment to a Zero Trust security model, and from VMware virtualization into a fully Azure based cloud ecosystem. As the Azure/Network Architect, you will serve as the technical authority and hands-on leader for this program, shaping cloud and network architectures, implementing modern security frameworks, and mentoring a small team through execution. Responsibilities: • Architect, design, and implement Azure cloud and Zero Trust aligned network architectures., • Lead the end-to-end migration from Cisco firewall infrastructure to a Zero Trust model., • Oversee migration from VMware based virtualization to Azure., • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a small engineering team; mentor, coach, and ensure best-practice execution., • Define enterprise-grade network, cloud, and security blueprints and standards., • Collaborate with security, infrastructure, application, and operations teams to ensure alignment across the business., • Create high-level and detailed architectural documentation, roadmaps, and execution plans., • Serve as the technical escalation point and subject matter expert throughout the transformation., • Drive continuous improvement, automation, and operational excellence in cloud and network design. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field., • 8+ years of experience in network architecture and design within enterprise environments., • Hands-on experience migrating from Cisco firewalls to a Zero Trust security model (e.g., Zscaler, Palo Alto, Microsoft Zero Trust frameworks)., • Proven experience migrating from VMware to Azure, including architecture, landing zone design, and workload migration., • Strong leadership capabilities, including mentoring team members and driving cross-functional collaboration., • Expertise in Azure networking, identity, policy, and governance., • Strong understanding of enterprise network security, cloud security principles, and modern Zero Trust methodologies., • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and guide teams through complex change. Preferred Experience (Nice to Have): • Azure certifications (AZ 305, AZ 700, AZ 500, or equivalent)., • Experience designing greenfield Azure landing zones., • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform)., • Experience in hybrid environments and security modernization.
