Job Description Journeyman – Stainless Steel Tank Construction, Repair & Process Piping Position Summary Adaptive Stainless is seeking skilled Journeyman-level professionals with experience in stainless steel fabrication, tank construction, welding, polishing, and process piping. This is a travel-based position supporting clients throughout the Continental United States. Candidates must demonstrate strong technical ability, a commitment to safety, and the flexibility to travel extensively for project-based work. Travel Requirements • Extensive travel required, • Assignments may range from 1 day to up to 2 years, • Projects located primarily within the Continental United States Minimum Qualifications • Minimum 2 years of experience in stainless steel construction, • OSHA 10 Construction or OSHA 30 Construction certification required (OSHA for the construction industry), • Preferred: Valid Journeyman Card NTD, Boilermaker, Union, • Current, valid, and stable driver’s license, • Hearing and vision sufficient to safely perform job duties Job Requirements • Strong commitment to safe work practices, • Exercise Safe Work / Stop Work Authority when necessary, • Pre-employment drug screening required; subject to random drug testing, • Employment contingent upon successful criminal background check, • Ability to read, interpret, and lay out fabrication/assembly from:, • 2-D drawings, • 3-D drawings, • P&IDs, • Other technical schematics Physical Job Functions • Climb, carry, reach, kneel, stoop, crawl, lift, push, and pull independently and with team members, • Maintain safe body positioning in hazardous and extended-duration operations, • Work in industrial, construction, and confined-space environments as required Essential Job Functions • Perform welding in all positions (6G), • TIG and Pulse MIG, • 304 and 316 stainless grades, • Gauge, plate, schedule pipe, and tubing, • Food-grade, biopharma, or equivalent fit and finish experience, • Perform polishing from ground smooth to #4 or 32 Roughness Average (RA) finish, • Rigging and setting equipment (tanks, components, agitators, etc.), • Load and unload trucks, trailers, vans, tools, and materials, • Maintain tool and equipment accountability, including tool plans, lists, and check-in/out procedures Preferred / Beneficial Qualifications • Ability to understand project scope, schedule, and sequencing, • Strong communication skills with the ability to build client relationships while reporting accurately to internal teams, • Skilled in troubleshooting damage on:, • Tanks, • Process piping, • Heat transfer systems, • Experience with agitator installation (run-out, leveling, tolerances), • Dye Penetrant NDT testing experience, • Experience with ASME/API fabrication, construction, and documentation, • Ability to self-perform QA/QC elements with clear and accurate documentation Company DescriptionAs a design-build general contractor with specialized build methods, equipment, and a skilled team of industry experts, Adaptive Stainless has two distinct segments – one which specializes in repair, modifications, and service, and another focused on design-build construction including new tank fabrication, balance of plant construction, and expanded-scope to turn-key projects.
