PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this contract position supports Care to Learns Closet Program by coordinating volunteer opportunities, managing inventory, and overseeing the setup, execution, and reset of monthly Closet Program Pick Packs and Restocks. This role ensures volunteers are scheduled effectively and operational needs are met so the Closet Program runs smoothly and efficiently. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PERFORMANCE AREAS • Prepare for and support monthly Closet Program Pick Packs and Restocks, including setup and breakdown., • Ensure spaces are organized and reset following volunteer activities., • Maintain accurate inventory of Closet Program items., • Track incoming and outgoing inventory related to Pick Packs and Restocks., • Identify low inventory levels and communicate needs to the appropriate staff., • Assist with volunteer schedules, logs, and basic participation records., • Assist in scheduling, coordinating, and confirming volunteers and groups for the Closet Program., • Collaborate with Care to Learn staff to ensure volunteer activities align with operational needs., • Follow established procedures and contribute to the continuous improvement of Closet Program operations., • Assist in various Closet Program or mission-related duties as needed., • Support Care to Learn special events and other initiatives as needed., • Represent the Care to Learn brand in all volunteer interactions. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES • Strong understanding, commitment, and enthusiasm for Care to Learns mission., • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail., • Ability to coordinate logistics, schedules, and inventory simultaneously., • Strong interpersonal skills; clear verbal and written communication., • Ability to work with diverse volunteers and maintain a professional demeanor., • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment., • Ability to adapt as priorities shift due to program needs., • Basic proficiency with Google Drive tools (Docs, Sheets, Forms). EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS • A minimum of one year of experience in a professional office environment is required., • Experience coordinating volunteers, events, or logistics is preferred., • A Bachelors degree in Communications, Education, Business, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience., • Experience in a public school setting and/or non-profit experience is preferred., • Possess a valid drivers license and have a good driving record. PHYSICAL CONTEXT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT • Seeing: Must be able to see to read documents/reports and use computer., • Percentage of Work Time Spent on Activity: 75-100%, • Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with staff, donors, vendors, and general public., • Percentage of Work Time Spent on Activity: 75-100%, • Sitting: Must be able to sit for long periods of time., • Percentage of Work Time Spent on Activity: 50-75%, • Standing/Walking: Must be able to move about the work area., • Percentage of Work Time Spent on Activity: 75-100%, • Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up items off the floor., • Percentage of Work Time Spent on Activity: 75-100%, • Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift 40 pounds with or without reasonable assistance., • Percentage of Work Time Spent on Activity: 75-100%, • Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to type, handle documents, and use equipment and electronic devices., • Percentage of Work Time Spent on Activity: 75-100% WORKING CONDITIONS Work is primarily performed in the Care to Learn Closet Program working space, warehouse, school, or office environment absent extreme factors. Schedule may vary around monthly Pick Packs and Restocks. Some evening or flexible hours may be required to support volunteer opportunities.
