American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Chandler, Arizona. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 11/10/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Position is in a Level 1 Trauma ICU within an acute care hospital setting, • Unit types include Surgical ICU with neuro trauma surgery, Medical/Cardiac ICU, and overflow ICU, • Patient population includes trauma (falls, GSW, MVAs), post-operative neuro and CV surgery, sepsis, ARDS, COVID, vascular and cardiac surgical cases, • 32-36 bed units with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1, • ICU RNs are required to independently interpret their own cardiac strips using GE monitors, • Titration of a variety of critical drips including Propofol, fentanyl, vasopressors, and more, • Respiratory therapy available 24/7 and equipped with Dreager, Hamilton, Puritan Benette 840 vents and Airvo, • Uses Cerner EMR; prior Cerner experience preferred, • Night shift, 12-hour shifts with self-scheduling and up to three weekend shifts per month required, • Floating required to sister ICU units and to telemetry with adjusted ratios as needed, • RNs are responsible for titration and management of critical meds and independently reading all cardiac monitor strips, • Charge nurse on unit does not have a patient assignment, • No monitor techs; nurse aids used only as sitters or health unit secretaries, • Skills will be validated for trauma, neuro and specialty ICU devices as needed, • Orientation is 1-2 days specific to ICU department, • Scrub color is navy, • Testing on sterile Foley insertion and central line dressing changes is required during orientation, • Up to one holiday off may be approved per assignment, • First-time travelers are welcome if all experience and skill criteria are met\n \n Requirements\n, • Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted, • Minimum 3 years recent ICU experience including neuro or cardiovascular ICU, • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required; copies must be active at time of consideration, • Must pass UNA Dysrhythmia Exam before acceptance (maximum two attempts allowed), • Pass/fail Sim Lab and sterile technique skills check required on Day 1 of orientation, • Nurse must provide a copy of driver’s license, • Two professional references required: one from a supervisor in last 12 months, one peer or supervisor from within last 3 years, • Must reside at least 50 miles from facility, • Candidates must not have been employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
