Position Overview The Pharmacist plays a critical role in ensuring patients receive safe, accurate, and high-quality custom compounded medications. This role includes verification, formula creation, consultation, and clinical support for both patients and colleagues. You will also be responsible for: • Continuing to maintain the utmost quality and service to our patients as the business evolves, ensuring we dispense safe and high-quality products while staying up to date on innovations in the compounding space., • Ensuring work queues are up to date and managed throughout the day to maintain turnaround time, so patients receive their medications promptly., • Being approachable and available for the clinical needs of colleagues, offering support when team members have questions or need help with patient inquiries. What You’ll Do Patient Interaction and Care • Take incoming calls from prescribers and patients and assist them in all their needs., • Complete any prescription transfers from an outside pharmacy and take over patient care of the new customer., • Provide information on questions that patients or providers might have regarding medications and over-the-counter supplements., • Check with patients to find out what other medications they are taking to monitor drug interactions. If the pharmacist discovers a potential drug interaction, they must coordinate with the doctor to adjust the dosages or to change the prescription., • Patient consultations in person and over the phone. Suggest additional or alternative treatments for the patient to consider, such as dietary changes and exercises to help the condition. Prescription Management • Fill prescriptions based on the information and dosage provided by the doctor. Ensure that the dosage is correct for the patient and their condition., • Prescription Verification: visual check for quality, pharmaceutical elegance, and completeness of prescription., • Package all medications to be dispensed to the patient or providers. Formula Creation and Verification • Create new formulas ensuring that calculations are correct and ready to be sent to the lab., • Modify and update existing formulas when needed., • Check all calculations of the finished product.
