American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Springfield, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: ASAP, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 48 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in the Intermediate Care (IMC/Stepdown/PCU) unit of a Level I trauma, Magnet teaching hospital, • Patient care includes telemetry, neuro stepdown, cardiac, post-surgical, ortho trauma, and respiratory cases, • Typical patient ratios and caseloads meet stepdown/PCU standards, • Shift schedule is 3x12 nights (18:45-07:15), with possible option for 4x12s, • Every other weekend required, • Cerner EMR used; Cerner experience preferred, • Candidates will float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed, • No on-call responsibilities, • Responsibilities include caring for diverse intermediate acuity patients across multiple specialties, • Participation in rapid response teams and use of advanced monitoring equipment expected, • Block scheduling may be possible with manager discussion, • RTO restrictions: Maximum of 5 days non-holiday time off auto-approved; holiday coverage for 2 out of 3 major holidays required, • Any solid color scrubs permitted, • Free parking with permit, issued during orientation, • Must complete required labs, documentation, and badge photo prior to start, • Initial orientation modules completed virtually on first day, • Locals accepted; no radius restriction\n \n Requirements\n, • Active IL RN license required at time of application; pending license not accepted, • Minimum 1 year of recent stepdown/IMC/PCU nursing experience required, • BLS (AHA or Red Cross only) and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred, • Demonstrated experience in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of dysrhythmias, • Experience with post-cardiac procedure care, neurology cases, orthopedic trauma, respiratory support, and advanced IV therapy required, • Must have rapid response and emergency management experience, • Professional references and complete work history required for consideration, • Must not have been a permanent or PRN employee of this health system in the past 12 months, • First-time travelers not accepted\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
