Job Description Established in 1926, Family Service League is a social services agency transforming lives and communities through mental health, addiction, housing, and essential human services with more than 60 social service programs in over 20 locations. SCHEDULE Saturdays 12:00PM – 8:00PM SUMMARY Family Service League is seeking a part-time Social Worker for the DASH (Diagnostic, Assessment, and Stabilization Hub) Crisis Center. The DASH Crisis Center is a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week outpatient crisis stabilization program that includes a 24-hour crisis hotline and mobile response team. The Social Worker will provide in person and telephonic crisis intervention, de-escalation and assessment as part of Mobile Crisis. RESPONSIBILITIES • The Social Worker will conduct clinical crisis assessments as part of a Mobile Crisis team serving all of Suffolk County for adults, adolescents and children with the full range of DSM diagnoses (including both mental health and substance use disorders)., • Screen and collect referral and collateral information from third party callers to inform assessment and linkage to immediate and long term supports., • Provide telephonic triage, assessment and de-escalation to determine best disposition for individuals in crisis., • Utilize resources such as PSYCKES to review relevant clinical information., • Work closely with law enforcement to accept referrals and provide a co-response to individuals in crisis, when clinically necessary., • The Social Worker will complete all clinical documentation in accordance with NYS Office of Mental Health in an electronic medical record., • Provide in person/ in community de-escalation, clinical assessment and linkage to individuals in crisis., • Coordination with outside providers and collateral contacts., • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, conferencing cases, communicating outcomes and providing follow up., • Attendance at routine supervision/team meeting., • Complete training and maintain proficiency with de-escalation skills., • The Social Worker will abide by FSL’s Code of Ethics., • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others both internally and externally to achieve goals of the organization., • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing., • Foster Team work, work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems and make decisions., • The Social Worker will assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization, • Set priorities, develop a work schedule, and monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information and activities., • Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem., • All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree and active enrollment in a master’s program in a relevant clinical field required; master’s degree in a relevant clinical field is preferred. Relevant clinical licensure, LMSW, LMHC, LCSW or equivalent preferred. Certification as CASAC/CASAC-T preferred. At least six months’ experience in a behavioral health setting is required. Clinical experience is preferred. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, are required. Experience with an Electronic Health Record is preferred Fluency in Spanish is preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to bend, stretch, and stand for long periods of time. Saturday 12p-8p REQUIRED
