Job Description We are seeking an Athletic Trainer within the Center for Student Engagement/Athletics, who will report to the Director of Student Engagement for Athletics & Recreation. Passaic County Community College is looking for a candidate with credentials in ATC and has experience working with intercollegiate teams and/or high school sports. This role is crucial in maintaining the health and peak performance of our athletes, ensuring they are physically prepared for the demands of college sports. Job Responsibilities: • Review all documentation for accuracy such as; physicals, medical forms/releases, etc., • Lead in the provision of the health, safety, injury prevention, injury evaluation, emergency treatment, rehabilitation, referrals and in providing follow-up care to our student-athletes., • Adheres to and enforces policies and procedures of the Center for Student Engagement/Athletics Department and College as well as the rules and regulations of the NJCAA., • Evaluates student-athlete’s injuries in conjunction with college physicians (if applicable) and ensures that appropriate action is advised; works closely with college physicians for off campus appointments, diagnostic testing, rehabilitation and medical clearance., • Provides primary coverage and oversight to all intercollegiate games, • Evaluates, implements, and supervises concussion protocol, • Maintains New Jersey Athletic Training licensure and remains in good standing with the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers through continuing education credits, • Provides medical coverage for all home varsity events and practices as directed; arranges for emergency care when needed., • Ensures that student-athletes have received proper medical clearance at the beginning of each academic year through completion of appropriate annual medical forms., • Works in conjunction with the Director to manage the sports medicine inventory of equipment and supplies; oversees the maintenance of all equipment and ensures that it is in good working order., • Maintains working knowledge of the Passaic County Community College health insurance and excess athletics insurance plan as well as knowledge of basic health insurance questions., • Collects and dates entry of all required medical forms., • Oversees and directs on-campus physical therapy for student-athletes and coordinates with an outside physical therapy clinic for long term and chronic injuries., • Organizes, maintains and makes certain that the sports medicine office is always sanitary and in good working order., • Travels with assigned teams as needed., • Attends and participates in all training departmental, conference, and College-wide meetings related to duties and responsibilities., • Graduation from an accredited College or university with a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training., • Minimum of three years of professional work experience in Athletic Training., • CPR/First Aid and AED certification., • Certification in good standing with the Athletic Training Board of Certification., • Condition to Employment: Ability to acquire license with the New Jersey Athletic Training Board of Medical Examiners., • Flexible schedule and ability to work regular days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel., • CPR/First Aid and AED instructor. Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. Job Description We are seeking a Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach who will report to the Director of Student Engagement for Athletics and Recreation and supports the Head Coach in the areas of basketball instruction, team practices, pre-season training, regular and post-season contests, travel, recruiting, student-athlete eligibility, and academic progress. The candidate must be of professional and high ethical standards when representing Passaic County Community College in addition to National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) rule compliance and other affiliations governing intercollegiate athletics. JOB SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Associate Director, the Sports Coordinator will oversee the regional sports program. The Sports Coordinator organizes all the required resources to effectively put together leagues and tournaments such as coaches, referees, playing fields and courts, etc. The Sports Coordinator must have a genuine interest in the growth and development of the students they support. Ensuring that Think Together students reach their potential takes a tremendous amount of hard work, flexibility, and commitment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Management of overall sports program, including implementation of rules, policies, standings, and forms for various sports seasons (e.g., soccer, flag football/volleyball, and basketball) throughout the academic year., • Create a safe and inclusive sports program and be a significant presence in the afterschool programs by organizing practices, games, and large regional tournaments., • Plan and implement positive sports programming during the after-school program., • Event planning and administration of fitness sessions, team practices, league games and large regional tournaments that promote a safe and inclusive environment for students, staff, and spectators., • Management of coaches, referees and volunteers through strong collaboration and communication with each involved Site and Regional Staff., • Coordination and delivery of trainings to coaches and referees (including volunteers) to promote fundamental understanding in student engagement in sports programming. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: • High School diploma or GED equivalency., • Demonstrated two plus years of experience and ability in leading sports events, practices, and inventory of equipment., • Demonstrated ability in coaching youth and volunteer coaches in athletic competitions., • Demonstrated experience leading groups of children with the ability to engage and inspire youth., • Demonstrated commitment to serving the greater community., • Motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written., • Conceptual ability for the larger perspective with a strong attention to detail and multitasking., • Experience interacting with diverse communities and the ability to integrate into and existing school community., • Knowledge of computer and internet-based programs for use in communication and grant requirements., • Strong written and oral communication skills.
