Job Description We are seeking an Athletic Trainer within the Center for Student Engagement/Athletics, who will report to the Director of Student Engagement for Athletics & Recreation. Passaic County Community College is looking for a candidate with credentials in ATC and has experience working with intercollegiate teams and/or high school sports. This role is crucial in maintaining the health and peak performance of our athletes, ensuring they are physically prepared for the demands of college sports. Job Responsibilities: • Review all documentation for accuracy such as; physicals, medical forms/releases, etc., • Lead in the provision of the health, safety, injury prevention, injury evaluation, emergency treatment, rehabilitation, referrals and in providing follow-up care to our student-athletes., • Adheres to and enforces policies and procedures of the Center for Student Engagement/Athletics Department and College as well as the rules and regulations of the NJCAA., • Evaluates student-athlete’s injuries in conjunction with college physicians (if applicable) and ensures that appropriate action is advised; works closely with college physicians for off campus appointments, diagnostic testing, rehabilitation and medical clearance., • Provides primary coverage and oversight to all intercollegiate games, • Evaluates, implements, and supervises concussion protocol, • Maintains New Jersey Athletic Training licensure and remains in good standing with the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers through continuing education credits, • Provides medical coverage for all home varsity events and practices as directed; arranges for emergency care when needed., • Ensures that student-athletes have received proper medical clearance at the beginning of each academic year through completion of appropriate annual medical forms., • Works in conjunction with the Director to manage the sports medicine inventory of equipment and supplies; oversees the maintenance of all equipment and ensures that it is in good working order., • Maintains working knowledge of the Passaic County Community College health insurance and excess athletics insurance plan as well as knowledge of basic health insurance questions., • Collects and dates entry of all required medical forms., • Oversees and directs on-campus physical therapy for student-athletes and coordinates with an outside physical therapy clinic for long term and chronic injuries., • Organizes, maintains and makes certain that the sports medicine office is always sanitary and in good working order., • Travels with assigned teams as needed., • Attends and participates in all training departmental, conference, and College-wide meetings related to duties and responsibilities., • Graduation from an accredited College or university with a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training., • Minimum of three years of professional work experience in Athletic Training., • CPR/First Aid and AED certification., • Certification in good standing with the Athletic Training Board of Certification., • Condition to Employment: Ability to acquire license with the New Jersey Athletic Training Board of Medical Examiners., • Flexible schedule and ability to work regular days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, occasional holidays, and travel., • CPR/First Aid and AED instructor. Compensation: Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. Job Description We are seeking a Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach who will report to the Director of Student Engagement for Athletics and Recreation and supports the Head Coach in the areas of basketball instruction, team practices, pre-season training, regular and post-season contests, travel, recruiting, student-athlete eligibility, and academic progress. The candidate must be of professional and high ethical standards when representing Passaic County Community College in addition to National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) rule compliance and other affiliations governing intercollegiate athletics. Example of Duties: • Attend required functions and meetings deemed by the Director of Student Engagement for Athletics and Recreation, • Assist with recruiting talented student-athletes in Passaic County, NJ and surrounding communities., • Assist in coordinating campus visits and tours with PCCC College Administrators on behalf of new recruits., • Represent sports program at college functions and civic engagements., • Obtain updated and valid physical records of student-athletes prior to basketball program participation., • Help create or revise a basketball program handbook outlining plans, goals, objectives, team dos-and-don’ts etc., • Assist with organizing and administering daily conditioning and sport specific training., • Transport student-athletes to off-campus games and other functions in the college van., • Oversee student-athlete behavior/conduct and academic eligibility., • Assist with purchasing, inventory, disbursement and return of all equipment, uniforms, assigned to student-athletes., • Help establish and maintain relations with external basketball organizations, high school coaches and players., • Frequently review and apply rules outlined in Region XIX and GSAC Sports Operating Code along with bylaws governed by the NJCAA., • Execute and ensure compliance of all regulations, rules, procedures, and policies for the program as established by the NJCAA, GSAC and Passaic County Community College., • Upload team roster, stats, scores, and other information required on Region XIX and NJCAA National website., • Help coordinate travel, meals and team meetings as needed., • Help schedule team practices, pre-season training, and off-season work outs., • Help organize and administer team community service and fundraising efforts as needed., • Serve as a positive role model for PCCC student-athletes., • Nominate student athletes for intercollegiate awards and recognition., • Assist student-athletes in transition to the next level of competition and education at four-year institutions., • Maintain regular contact with student-athletes and the Women’s Basketball Head Coach during the full term of the contract, including the off season., • Take role in student-athlete academic success, engagement, and retention by covering study halls, monitor class attendance, and follow up on progress reports., • Take initiative to assure both operational need and program infrastructure remains intact during times of crisis., • Adhere to actions deemed by Director of Student Engagement for Athletics and Recreation in support of the mission intended for the sports program and department., • High school diploma required, associate degree or, higher degree preferred., • Must have a flexible schedule to be present at all practices, home, and away games., • Basketball coaching/playing experience with proven success record., • Prior high school and or 2–4-year college level coaching experience highly desired, • Possess a valid drivers' license., • Valid CPR/First Aid/AED certification., • Proven ability to effectively recruit student-athletes within and beyond Passaic County, • Ability to understand and apply sport compliance rules. Compensation: The stipend pay for this position is $5,000 for a full season.
