Job Description THE COMPANY: A small healthcare technology-based manufacturing company located in Eastern Long Island, NY. Private, Commercial, Profitable, Global. TITLE: Controller GENERAL SUMMARY: Reporting to the CEO, this position is a full-time, onsite (not a remote or hybrid) role to take ownership of the accounting function and support the day-to-day operations of the function. The position goes far beyond a traditional controller role; it is not a purely administrative accounting position. The company is looking for a professional who understands that active liquidity management, strong supplier collaboration, and daily operational financial leadership are critical success factors. The Company is seeking entrepreneurial, operationally strong, and highly hands-on management to be the sole contributor for the finance organization. The role will focus on all day-to-day accounting operations, improving the month-end close process, enhancing financial controls, ensuring accurate and timely reporting across the business, and building a scalable accounting function to support ongoing growth. The successful candidate will work very closely with the CEO daily and serve as a key operational interface between finance, purchasing, suppliers, logistics, and international distribution partners. RESPONSIBILITIES: Accounting & Financial Reporting • Manage daily cash flow and liquidity management, • Manage and improve the month/quarter-end close processes, with a focus on compliance, speed. accuracy, and consistency, • Manage all core accounting functions including general ledger, AP, AR, payroll and on-site employee support, • Strengthen accounting policies, processes, and internal controls, • Work with leadership to evaluate and enhance current systems, • Partner closely with the CEO and leadership team, • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, • 8–15 years as controller, senior accountant, or finance manager with hands-on accounting experience, ideally within small to mid-sized manufacturing and distribution businesses, • Entrepreneurial mindset with a high sense of ownership and accountability, • Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of GAAP, • Experience managing or supervising small accounting teams and or consultants, • Comfortable in a hands-on, operational finance role, • High level of integrity, reliability, and discretion, • Strong attention to detail with good communication skills, • Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment, • Strong collaborative skills cross-functionally and with external stakeholders, • CPA or equivalent qualification preferred, • Experience with QuickBooks and/or ERP system transitions, • P&L experience preferred The expected base salary for this role is $140-$190.
