Job DescriptionBenefits: • 401(k) matching, • Dental insurance, • Health insurance, • Paid time off This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and hands-on accounting professional with strong bookkeeping and accounting experience who can bring structure, accuracy, and consistency to daily financial operations. The Bookkeeper will play a key role in supporting the CFO, ensuring timely and accurate processing of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, maintaining reconciliations, and collaborating closely with internal departments to support efficient month- end and ongoing financial processes. Position Summary: The Bookkeeper will play a key role in managing daily accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), reconciliations, and general bookkeeping functions. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with integrated ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks), excellent data entry skills, and a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals such as period matching and month-end processes. Key Responsibilities: Accounts Payable (AP): Enter and verify AP invoices, ensuring accuracy by comparing to purchase orders and packing documents. Route invoices to appropriate departments for approval before posting. Process vendor payments via check, ACH, and credit card. Maintain the schedule of recurring monthly expenses and post automatic payments timely. Accounts Receivable (AR): Generate and post AR invoices daily. Post AR cash receipts and assist with collections follow-up. Work with CFO on any receivables issues or escalations. General Bookkeeping Accounting Support: Perform bank and credit card reconciliations. Record and post general journal entries. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. Support preparation of financial statements and management reports. Maintain organized physical and digital accounting records. Provide financial insights and collaborate with other departments as needed. Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by CFO to support finance operations. Required Qualifications: 3+ years of professional bookkeeping experience, with solid hands-on AR AP expertise. Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop or similar integrated ERP systems (experience with Bill.com a plus). Strong understanding of accounting concepts (period matching, accruals, reconciliations). Exceptional data entry accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities. Preferred Qualifications: Associates or Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required with relevant experience. Food manufacturing accounting experience is a plus (inventory, cost tracking).
