Job Description CLINICAL CASE MANAGER QUEENS SUPERVISED RELEASE PROGRAM Posted: 2/24/2026 ABOUT CJA The New York City Criminal Justice Agency (CJA) is a not-for-profit service and research organization that operates in partnership with the New York City Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice. CJA is the City's main pretrial services agency, combining operations, pilot projects, and research under one roof. CJA utilizes procedural justice practices to provide pretrial services to over 200,000 persons arrested annually in New York City. Information collected about these arrestees and subsequent case processing is maintained in the agency's internal and externally shared database systems, which are used to conduct descriptive and evaluation research on arrestee characteristics, case processing and court outcomes, and on issues and potential reforms to criminal justice policy in New York City. CJA's programs operate in the criminal courts and detention facilities 24 hours a day seven days a week within the 5 boroughs of NYC, employing over 300 employees, citywide. PROGRAM SUMMARY CJA operates a Supervised Release Program in Queens Criminal Court. The program, which operates during the day and night court in Queens, screens targeted defendants for release at criminal court arraignment, subject to specific conditions including maintaining face-to-face and telephone contact with the program, participating in an assessment process to identify needs such as substance use and mental health, and agreeing to program monitoring of court appearances and re-arrests. This is a great opportunity for a dynamic, knowledgeable individual, experienced in dealing with high-needs populations such as those with mental health diagnoses, at-risk youth, and others with social, emotional or developmental challenges, who have criminal court involvement. Our mission is to increase public safety through innovative services that reduce crime and incarceration, improve behavioral health, promote recovery and rehabilitation, and create opportunities for success in the community. The CASES Court services department services facilitates court mandates or endorsed programming at all points in the criminal legal process. CASES operates alternative to detention (ATD) and alternative to incarceration (ATI) community based programs that are facilitated by the NYS Office of Court Administration (OCA) judiciary. CASES interfaces with multiple stakeholders to support these ATD and ATI program options for thousands of defendants in multiple boroughs. Specifically the arraignment team screens approximately 10,000 defendants per year for ATD and ATI programs, Supervised Releasee and newSTART. Additionally, the ATI intake assessment team screens 500 amount per year to divert people into 3 (three) CASES community based programs, Reframing Opportunity Alternatives and Resilience (ROAR), Nathaniel Community Success (NCS) and Nathaniel Assertive Community Treatment (NACT). All Court services teams are dedicated to the CASES mission, facilitating release and positive court outcomes. This role will support a new initiative within the Supervise Release program run by CASES in Manhattan. The role will be in court during the critical hours needed to support arraignments. Furthermore this role will be unique of building and maintaining a caseload from the courtroom to the community nightly. Where You Will Work: Hudson Bay is a brand-new, all-female shelter in the Bronx housing 200 women aged 55 and older. About The Role: Lantern Community Services is seeking an experienced and dependable Shift Supervisor for Hudson Bay, an all-female adult shelter in the Bronx serving 200 women aged 55 and older. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing shelter operations during assigned shifts and supervising a team of Residential Aides. This role works in close coordination with Social Services, Maintenance, and Security staff to ensure safe, consistent, and client-centered service delivery. The Shift Supervisor reports to the Director of Program Operations and is expected to have prior experience in site management, staff supervision, and supporting clients experiencing mental health challenges. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Oversee daily shelter operations during assigned shifts, including bed sign-ins, curfew checks, supply distribution, meal rosters, dorm inspections, logbooks, and incident reporting., • Supervise and support Residential Aides to ensure safe, consistent, and client-centered service delivery., • Ensure residents have timely access to essential services such as meals, laundry, toiletries, and medications., • Respond to emergencies and critical incidents using Safe Crisis Management practices., • Ensure accurate intake and documentation for new and returning clients, including DHS submissions and bed assignments., • Monitor CARES for bed sign-ins, vacancies, and curfew compliance., • Coordinate with Maintenance, Security, vendors, and emergency responders as needed., • Monitor safety systems, including video surveillance and fire prevention/detection alarms., • Complete required documentation, including shift logs, incident reports, and DHS reporting., • Conduct regular facility rounds to identify safety hazards, cleanliness issues, and unauthorized activity., • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff. Required Education and Experience: • High School Diploma, HSE, or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred., • Minimum of three (3) years of shelter experience in a Residential Aide, Case Management, or similar role., • At least one (1) year of supervisory experience in a DHS shelter or supportive housing setting., • Strong crisis management skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment., • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to learn new systems and databases., • F-80 Fire Safety Coordinator certification required or ability to obtain., • NYC Food Handler’s Certificate required or ability to obtain within three (3) months of employment., • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with demonstrated empathy for vulnerable populations., • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred; CPR/First Aid certification a plus. Work Environment: This job operates in a shelter environment and works with a population who experiences mental illness, addiction, disability, HIV, and other chronic illnesses.
