Great futures start here, and they start with you.\n \n TITLE: Lead Certified Teacher–21st Century Program\n PERFORMANCE PROFILE SOURCE: Individual Contributor (Lead – no direct reports)\n DEPARTMENT: Club Operations\n REPORTS TO: Club Service Director (administrative); receives program and instructional direction from the 21st CCLC Project Director\n FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt\n WORKER CATEGORY: Part-Time\n EMPLOYMENT TERM: Grant Funded\n EMPLOYMENT FUNCTION: Professional\n LOCATION: Levy Hughes Clubhouse\n ADDRESS: 712 West Amelia Street, bldg. 900, Orlando, FL 32805\n POSITION SUMMARY:\n The Lead Certified Teacher–21st Century Program provides high-quality, engaging academic instruction while serving as the instructional lead and primary instructional resource for Certified Teachers within the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida’s 21st Century Community Learning Centers program. This role guides lesson planning, curriculum implementation, targeted intervention, instructional technology, data collection, and the use of student data to inform instruction and monitor academic progress.\n Working alongside Certified Teachers, Club staff, the Project Director, families, and school partners, the Lead Certified Teacher promotes instructional consistency, effective program implementation, and continuous improvement across the program in support of grant requirements and positive academic outcomes for Club members.\n This position provides instructional leadership, coaching, and day-to-day guidance to Certified Teachers but does not have supervisory authority. Hiring, schedule approval, and performance evaluation remain with the Club Service Director in coordination with the 21st CCLC Project Director.\n \n ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: \n Academic Program Development and Implementation\n \n Coordinate academic programming in reading, math, and science in alignment with the approved 21st CCLC program model, assigned curriculum, grant requirements, and identified student needs.\n Guide lesson planning in collaboration with the Project Director and Certified Teachers to ensure consistent, high-quality instruction aligned with program expectations.\n Provide direct instruction, differentiated learning, and targeted academic intervention based on student needs, performance data, and program priorities.\n Coordinate required academic assessments and analyze student performance and participation data to monitor progress, identify needs, and guide instructional planning, student groupings, and interventions.\n Collaborate with the Project Director, program staff, and appropriate school-day personnel to address student educational needs and support effective program implementation.\n Coordinate instructional coverage, teacher and student assignments, and instructional resources to support program operations and student needs, in consultation with the Club Service Director and Project Director.\n \n Youth Development\n \n Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment that promotes academic success and positive youth development.\n Build positive, trusting relationships with students and model effective use of encouragement, coaching, mentoring, and appropriate redirection to promote positive behavior and sustained engagement.\n Model and promote self-confidence, self-awareness, perseverance, and other skills that support students’ academic achievement and personal growth.\n \n \n Professional Development and Instructional Leadership\n \n Serve as the primary instructional resource for Certified Teachers by modeling effective instructional practices, providing coaching and constructive feedback, and supporting consistent implementation of the approved program model and curriculum, including positive, inclusive, and academically engaging learning environments.\n Facilitate regular collaborative review of curriculum, lesson plans, instructional strategies, student progress, and program data with Certified Teachers.\n Actively participate in required professional development, training, and program meetings throughout the year, and support the application of relevant strategies and best practices across the instructional program.\n Maintain an active and valid Florida Professional Educator Certification, including completion of all required renewal activities, professional learning, and documentation necessary to remain in good standing.\n \n \n Administration, Data Collection and Reporting\n \n Oversee required data collection and documentation processes to ensure accurate, complete, and timely records in accordance with grant requirements and established procedures, including attendance verification, data-quality review, and EZReports data entry during peak reporting periods or as needed.\n Maintain assigned instructional and assessment platforms, including student rosters and usage monitoring, and support Certified Teachers in the effective use of approved tools such as IXL, Renaissance, Accelerated Reader, and other designated platforms.\n Maintain required documentation of collaboration and communication with school-day personnel and parents/guardians regarding student academic progress, needs, successes, and challenges.\n Maintain ongoing communication with the Club Service Director and Project Director regarding instructional implementation, student progress, data collection, staffing and instructional needs, and emerging program concerns.\n Collaborate with the Site Coordinator, Membership Services Coordinator, Certified Teachers, and other Club staff to coordinate schedules, instructional space, student participation, and other operational needs affecting academic programming.\n Support required program reporting and continuous improvement efforts, including monthly program highlights and other documentation of student participation, progress, accomplishments, and program outcomes.\n Accurately record all hours worked, including program meetings, professional development, and administrative time, in accordance with organizational timekeeping policy. Hours worked beyond the assigned part-time schedule require advance supervisor approval.\n \n \n QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, Education, Experience & Skills)\n Education:\n \n Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.\n Valid Florida Educator Certificate required, with appropriate certification coverage for the assigned instructional area(s).\n \n Experience:\n \n Minimum of three years of classroom teaching experience required.\n At least one year of teaching experience in a Title I school environment required.\n Minimum of one year of experience in a formal or informal instructional leadership role (lead or mentor teacher, instructional coach, department chair, grade-level or PLC lead, or comparable) required.\n Demonstrated experience analyzing student assessment and participation data to guide instruction, student groupings, and targeted intervention required.\n Demonstrated experience designing and delivering instruction using project- and problem-based learning methodologies.\n Demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction and provide targeted academic support to meet the diverse learning needs and varying academic levels of students.\n \n Preferred Qualifications:\n \n Experience in an afterschool, extended learning, or 21st Century Community Learning Centers program.\n Experience with EZReports, IXL, Renaissance, or comparable instructional and program data platforms.\n Experience mentoring, coaching, or onboarding fellow educators.\n \n Skills: \n \n Proficiency in educational software and instructional technology platforms, including Renaissance, Accelerated Reader, IXL, and program data systems such as EZReports.\n Ability to coach peer educators and provide clear, constructive feedback that strengthens instructional practice.\n Ability to coordinate schedules, instructional coverage, and instructional resources across multiple staff members and program settings.\n Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, families, school-day personnel, and program staff.\n Ability to facilitate engaging small-group learning experiences while maintaining appropriate student supervision, positive behavior supports, and effective classroom management.\n Ability to plan and deliver computer-assisted instruction and effectively facilitate large-group learning experiences.\n Adaptability to deliver high-quality instruction in a variety of learning environments, including Club-based, school-based, and other program settings.\n Demonstrated leadership skills, sound judgment, and the ability to serve as a positive role model for students.\n Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; consistent access to a reliable, properly insured vehicle required.\n \n \n KEY ROLE COMPETENCIES: \n \n Drives Results: Leads high-quality, standards-aligned instruction and uses student participation, assessment, and performance data to drive instructional decisions and measurable academic growth. Adjusts instructional approaches, priorities, student groupings, and supports as needed and provides guidance to Certified Teachers in responding effectively to changing conditions.\n Communicates Effectively: Provides clear, timely, and effective communication across the instructional team and with the Project Director, Club staff, families, and school-day personnel. Facilitates the exchange of information related to student progress, instructional priorities, data, program needs, and emerging concerns to promote coordinated implementation and positive student outcomes.\n \n \n ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES \n RELATIONSHIPS\n \n Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with the Club Service Director, the 21st Century Project Director, Certified Teachers, and Club staff to interpret and explain program objectives and standards, discuss issues, and provide and receive information. Maintains close daily contact with participating Club members and students referred by partner schools.\n External: Maintains contact with participating schools. Meets with the school Principal or designee, teachers, and counselors, as necessary, to identify individual students' educational needs, progress, and the most effective learning approach.\n \n \n ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS:\n \n The position requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments of an office or club setting, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions.\n Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and policy manuals.\n Required to operate a motor vehicle.\n Must be able to perform CPR or first aid if needed.\n Work in environments frequented by children and families, requiring adherence to safety and conduct standards that ensure a child-friendly and family-oriented atmosphere.\n Must be adaptable to a dynamic work schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, to support program activities, family engagement events, and school partner meetings.\n \n PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:\n \n Physically capable of performing programming activities and club duties on-site, including lifting up to 30 pounds, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, bending, and reaching.\n Operates a computer and other office productivity equipment such as a copy machine, phone, printer, and tablet frequently.
