About the Role The Community Experience Lead is the architect and manager of our global community ecosystem. You will design, iterate, and evolve highly creative technical and social infrastructure that makes large-scale collaboration possible, in the same sense as open community projects such as Wikipedia or Linux. You will build the connective tissue between projects, people, and experiences; defining contributor pathways and establishing governance and moderation models that ensure safety, equity, and clarity. Youll run and refine engagement frameworks and the tooling behind them, while also ensuring partners, moderators, and independent contributors can plug in seamlessly. Key Responsibilities Engage & Operate the Community • Own the day-to-day: community announcements, handle support requests, and coordinate moderator schedules across time zones., • Implement recognition and reward systems, community role progression, and permissions., • Maintain a calendar of events for the learner community, coordinating with marketing, progra,m and game teams on program deployment, cohorts, calendars, and shared events., • Support discussion, mentor, and industry expert sessions tied to learning and game development., • Foster an inclusive and supportive environment, ensuring equity and accessibility., • Act as the organizations open-source community expert, guiding teams on community norms, contribution workflows, and governance., • Model effective open-source communication and collaborative development within the community., • Promote the use of open-source tools and practices, and help learners navigate the unique culture of open collaboration., • Advocate for open-source values across teams, embedding them into product design, learning programs, and community strategy., • Set up a clear, accessible community structure, including channels, tiers, roles, permissions, and contribution workflows., • Ensure platform readiness for partner spaces, roles, and data handling, including privacy and security., • Design, manage, and maintain technical community infrastructure, ensuring seamless engagement across chat services, GitHub, and our Endless Studio platform., • Collaborate with the engineering team and act as a lightweight admin for integrations, APIs, authentication systems, bots, and webhooks that connect the community to the broader ecosystem., • Maintain and enforce a Code of Conduct and a practical moderation model, including recruitment and training of moderators., • Support the development of and enforce safety models and policies., • Define processes for incident response and escalation., • Develop onboarding, documentation, and guidelines for learners, mentors, and independent contributors., • Support pathways for peer-to-peer mentorship and community-led support models to decentralize assistance., • Publish release notes (in collaboration with games, learning, and platform) to keep members and partners aligned., • Define and track engagement and retention metrics with effective dashboards and a regular reporting cadence., • Iterate policies, workflows, and tools based on evidence and outcomes., • Passionate about equitable, inclusive community design with time-served community-building experience., • Excellent communicator, able to translate and disseminate complex technical information on multiple levels., • Strong technical background with experience in APIs, integrations, bots, automation, and platform administration., • Skilled in systems thinking and able to design scalable information architecture across multiple platforms., • Deeply experienced in working within open-source communities, alongside core contributors and maintainers., • Knowledge of community governance, licensing, attribution, and IP considerations., • Familiar with policy design, safety, and moderation in digital communities., • Familiarity with Godot or comparable open-source gaming ecosystems., • Knowledge of game development, edtech, or creative digital spaces., • Sustained community growth with high participation and inclusive engagement., • Comprehensive, accessible resources, and incentives that drive participation and peer support., • Evidence-based iteration guided by actionable metrics and community feedback., • Seamless, secure, and accessible infrastructure supporting community engagement and interoperability.
