Job DescriptionDirect Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Litigation Associate Attorney to join a growing team in Parsippany, NJ. Location: Parsippany, NJ About the Role This position is ideal for an associate attorney with at least 2 years of New Jersey litigation experience, preferably in real estate or complex commercial litigation. The associate will work on a wide range of matters including commercial lease disputes, foreclosures, contract disputes, title issues, landlord/tenant matters, construction litigation, zoning appeals, and prerogative writ actions. Key Responsibilities * Draft and argue pleadings, motions, and briefs. * Handle complex real estate and commercial disputes, including prerogative writ actions. * Conduct depositions and appear in court as needed. * Manage day-to-day case activities, including discovery, legal research, and trial preparation. * Provide guidance on New Jersey land-use, zoning, affordable housing, and redevelopment laws (preferred). * Collaborate with team members in a hybrid work environment (remote 2 days per week). Qualifications * J.D. and admission to practice in New Jersey (dual admission in New York is a plus). * Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience in New Jersey. * Strong analytical, writing, and verbal communication skills. * Courtroom advocacy experience and familiarity with New Jersey state courts. * Ability to manage complex cases and prioritize multiple projects. * Self-motivated, resourceful, and collaborative. * Appellate clerkship experience is a plus. Compensation * Anticipated annual salary: $180,000 – $210,000, depending on experience and qualifications. * Hybrid work schedule with flexibility for remote work two days per week.
